MoonLite has no blockchain and was designed to exist on top of Mooncoin blockchain.

Exactly. That's why I wrote what I wrote. I'd say to fully separate MoonLite as a currency independent of Mooncoin, as it complicates things only. So one can use MoonWord on that and keep the original Mooncoin blockchain clear from that.

Why not to separate smart contracts from Ethereum not to complicate things?
And to leave only a pure Ethereum POS coin (with no smart contracts and other innovations), because people like the name and staking.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Mooncoin is actually trading at 2 satoshi

Also, I've been studying the trade data. I feel as though there is a bot that is artificially keeping the price at 2 satoshi on bleutrade. It places orders at 1 satoshi, then when it meets a minumum amount, it places a sell order somewhere in the ballpark of 2BTC. It slowly makes a profit and reinvests with a bid for 1 satoshi. It is just a theory, but it explains the data, such as the rising bid wall and the sell wall seeming to stay in a fixed range. If it weren't for this bot, people would have been able to pump much higher, and the coin would have a larger community from people that can see this coin taking off long term. This is however, just my theory.

There is a positive way to look at this. Now that the price is kept artificially low, we could encourage others to join into the community at a cheap price until that bot runs out of fuel. A driving force to get more people in to soak that fuel up would be some visibly active development. I understand that the developers are working and that they want to present a quality product, so I'm not asking for them to hurry up by any means. If we could start developing little projects on top of MoonWord, it might be able to draw some more interest from people that actually would care about the coin.

I am not completely against the idea of a hard fork. It might be a way to defeat that bot long enough for initial investors to raise volume on a MoonLite coin to get price in a fair range and to grow a community more quickly. I'm not going to push either way personally. I just have ideas that I think would be cool to implement, and feasibility and the developer's vision of the project should be kept in mind. When PINK transferred over to their new blockchain, a colorful community popped up underneath it, and value rose to a reasonable value quickly. People were also encouraged to stick with the coin for longer than a pump and dump because they liked being able to stake their coin, and competition for staking is part of their friendly banter. I am looking at their community for my personal goals with this community of moonmen. They have many people with many different strengths that want to see Pink succeed long term, and I want to show Moon the same kind of love.

Before further thinking about this, better focus on everything wallet and blockchain, in order to get it running smoothly under any condition (i.e. no stuck blockchain for one, two or even three hours for a coin that announces 90 sec. block-time on average).

If you remember, it was 100% your idea to implement DigiShield which leaded to these pauses between blocks.

If the Mooncoin dev implements another difficulty adjustment algo or Proof-of-Stake, it will require another fork, updating wallets at all exchanges, pools, services etc...

The community will decide. However, staking has a lot of its own problems and not something ideal for MOON.

pamims has posted what is needed. A hybrid solution is something to think about, too.
PoS is used by many successful coins. It is also suitable for Mooncoin.

Better a new hardfork, than to disappoint users in the key promises, that MOON makes and answering the same questions in the forum over and over again. Remember: the block-time is the heart of any cryptocurrency and one of the main advantages of MOON over many other currencies. So it is crucial that it works as advertised. I have suggested PoS or hybrid PoW/PoS already long before the last hardfork that was necessary with the latest wallet. So it could have been implemented already.

If the problem is the big wallets of single users - which can be a problem indeed with PoS - then we should think about solving this problem with a new variant of PoS, instead of refusing to even think about it altogether (like it is still visible in the first posting, which I have also criticized a few months ago). There are many, many positive things about PoS, so let us be creative and develop a new PoS-algo to overcome possible problems of the existing ones, especially in regard of specific problems Mooncoin could have.

Now, that would be really innovative and most probably convince the bigger exchanges, if they need innovations to get a currency listed, as some say (which I don't fully believe anyway, since they can't refuse a successful coin forever, and most probably won't, because they won't profit, if other/smaller exchanges do the deals ...).

I do support the idea of implementing PoS/PoW hybrid, because in my opinion, that will attract a bigger audience. We had a poll set up, voting about what algorythm people would like to see added. Here are the results: http://www.strawpoll.me/13058736/r

Also!! with that MoonEdu idea, if their was staking, smart kids would get to build their moon along the way and maybe get to use it to help pay for their college materials freshmen year! I love it!

Yeah, I think that MoonEdu idea is great too. That would motivate kids/students and get them into cryptocurrencies.

My GF is a school teacher who has taught all grades over a 14 year career; she would be interested in helping out
if the structure for the program gets laid out and implemented!

New blog which will be built up soon with resources and explanations on the features of mooncoin.

http://moonchan.org/

I want to make this as educational as possible, so a lot of terminology and technology used in the cryptocurrency world will be explained as best as possible to try and help those new to the scene.

The site's a bit retro right now, and built on wordpress, but I have people interested in forming one from scratch, with data showing growth and prices on exchanges etc. Possibly a calculator to convert Moon > BTC > fiat (which we have running in our chat)

However I am in agreement with Mooncoin_Foundation, I don't want people to become obsessed with the possible money potential, and would prefer them to focus on the technological potential.

Any feedback is welcome.

It's possible to implement Segwit and the very latest Litecoin base (these features are in progress),
also mining from wallets with one click and another difficulty retarget algo.

But LTC is Proof-of-Work (as well as BTC and DOGE), if you want to see MOON a Proof-of-Stake coin,
then this work should be stopped.

Moving MOON to Proof-of-Stake can lead to unpredictable issues, so I'd not recommend it.
Anyway the community decides.

Please read that

It isn't necessary to make Mooncoin Proof-of-Stake only, but a Proof-of-Work & Proof-of-Stake hybrid should work. Coins like PinkCoin, Nevacoin and Lanacoin use this type of dual-algorithm, thus allowing both staking and hardware mining at the same time. Why choose one if we can have both?

What is wrong with Bleutrade?
They work since 2014.

Anyway it's not recommended to keep large quantities of coins at exchanges.

Remember how furiously people dumped MOON in 2015-2016 at Bleutrade for a price which now looks like a joke?
If you keep coins at exchanges you always have a temptation to sell them,
you see a buy wall and sell, then a price goes higher, you sell again, then a price is 10 times higher, but you already have no coins...

Use full clients or even better paper wallets to keep your coins safely and to avoid the temptation to sell them.

The Hybrid is a complex system, if barrysty1e can implement it with no issues, why not?
You'd better ask him.

The Mooncoin volume at Bleutrade today is huger than Dogecoin's and Ethereum's volume combined.
