It will be difficult for them to survive when bitcoin gets all the necessary functions with future updates, I think that only 10-20 projects will continue to exist.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I am seeing too many, maybe over a hundred of these coins will survive in the future. Mostly likely a project will survive and will have the chance to grow big when done accordingly to its plans and being promoted aggressively in the market. There billions of people and trillions of money in this world so this is all about quality and support.

I believe that most of the Altcoins will survive. The question is put as if only a few will survive and it is necessary to decide who these lucky alts are. Some altcoins projects will surely be in the future. but some altcoins are condemned to death.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

I agree with ethereum coin, because this altcoin is a good assets to invest  ETH will be here for alternative option. Coins that r gonna need to survive the most are privacy coins. So I chose ETH private to invest in.  Tongue

Exactly and this is the very reason why many cryptos are already built the good place in this place, bitcoin and eth, lite are already on this list. What I am watching now is the prl, wepower, and and rocktoken.

I think that only 50-100 Altcoins will remain relevant. All other coins will eventually fall in price. Huh Wink

In my mind ethereum and litecoin will survive for a long time.
These are good ones they have been around long time and they have good devs in the blockchain making the improvements to help the people with there coins.

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin
The alt coins that will not only survive but thrive in future are NEO, PRG, LTC and XRP. They all have great projects on which their team is working diligently. All of them have long term and short term scopes. I will advise to invest in them.

I have XLM, ADA, TAU and ETH in my portfolio. These coins are thriving now and will also thrive in future. These coins are working on projects which will go on and on. So they are a good HODL. Have a look at them, they are worth investing in.

with the passage of time will be a lot of altcoins sprung, even could be there will be a vacuum and even will still exist and shows good progress, maybe if my opinion is altcoin ETH, ADA.

It seems to me that the whole sphere of crypto-currency is very similar to a casino. It is very difficult to guess which project is better to invest. Too many factors and different conditions. Everything is constantly changing.

Surprisingly, if you say such a project as dogecoin, then in general, this project was created as a joke. But in reality, after all these years, it continues to exist and is one of the most serious projects.

I think only the strongest will survive, those are for me, monero zcash/zcoin and etheruem, litecoin perhaps will survive because the community is emotionally attached to it, and the dev is very operative.

I guess that IOTA, NEO, EOS will survive. Some experts say that OmiseGo have brilliant future, and the others bet on Stellar. Here are 5 Altcoins to hold for long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGNL4pUXgsc&t=1s

Minex , ethereum and crdits, this coins are on fire in the market so i believe that this coins will really increase even more since most of the people are preferring to invest on this kinds more than any other cryptocurrency.

I think that many coins will survive in the near future, only very weak coins will disappear, which you probably did not even know about! And if you ask about the distant future, then no one can give you an answer to this question, only time will show it!

so all altcoins have its targets and purpose and developers must have declared how the results will be in the future and they will definitely give a statement that their coin is the best but not all altcoins will work, many will fail without success, only hype of price and go dawn
