Well I'm sure that ETH will survive, there are already so many (successful) projects that run on their platform.
Then I'm sure that Mobile Go, if and whenever they decide to begin, could become THE currency of mobile gamers.
I also see Salt becoming the number one alternative of banks giving their tokens high value.
Atlant because real estate is one of the biggest markets on the planet - people will always need a place to live in.
Guts, because they have the solution to fake ticket sale and I can see every concert and event tickets being sold on their platform.
Kyber because they are one of the first decentraliyed exchanges and the whole point of cryptocurrencies and blockchain is the decentralized system.

For me their is only one and that is ethereum, see how ethereum rapidly grows from time to time, and look how ethereum is used in many countries, ethereum now very expensive that not everyone can afford it.And for some reasons their is also some old but good altcoins can also survive because lf the market price just like namecoins, litecoins, dogecoins and more.

BTC and ETH will definitely survive, as they were both the first who introduced the underlying concepts (store of value and decentralized applications) the have both the pioneer advantage (first in the market) which gives them the first mover advantage. Both have the highest adoption which is probably the most important point of consideration when finding a good currency to invest in

The list is long: NEM, NEO, XRP...

See the top 10 in https://coinmarketcap.com/, they all have some innovations that will make sure they are survived.

Waves, litecoin, and ethereum are the strongest three altcoins that can survive in the future, if you ask me.

The rest, including ripple is unknowns for me.

That's a good question. I firmly believe that Ethereum has a stronghold after the bitcoin, and Ether may soon lead the cryptos. Other alt coins such as elixir, steem and minereum seem to have a long term I feel. Lets hope they last long and provide benefits to everyone on board

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

Those coins that has their own platforms which is probably being widely used nowadays like ethereum and waves and other coins that has their own platforms too as they can be able to run in a large competition together with bitcoin .

Marketing on MONA coin is getting stronger in Japan

https://youtu.be/DDkGGf5n9Uo

Definitely an alt to keep an eye on:
- Japan has a positive legal framework for cryptos
- Tech advanced coin, segwit is locked in
- Tradable vs Fiat on Japanese exchanges
- Bitflyer, the largest Japanese exchange will start its operations in the US this year, thus offering MONA to US customers

Those altcoins that are also widely supported by many cryptocurrency holders might have the chance to survive longer in the future. Ethereum, litecoin, monero and dash and other top cryptocurrencies are candidates for staying alive in the future.

It might survive in the future are ethereum, litecoin, dash and dogecoin. The number one in my list is ethereum because we know it, that is always near of bitcoin in the market. I wondered how far can go the other altcoins.

Remove doge from this list, ethereum, dash, monero are probably the best option for long term, litecoin had his time how and now it will be in stable range until next halving. Many will test luck with some ICOs but this is only on short term investment.
