I feel REAL will survive as your investment goes in to real estate. So there is something physical backing your investment.

I agree with you and since I invested in both REAL and Swarm, I suggest to take a look at swarm.fund too, since are opening funds backed by real assets (like the Puerto Rico housing fund)

It is very important question and I would also love to see the other`s opinions. Personally, I believe that such altcoins like Ethereum and Litecoin will be able to survive through many regulations and hacker attacks, at least I hope so.

A really interesting question. You need to understand which coins have a future. Personally I think that this will be Cardano, XRP, NEO, EOS. Very promising projects!

I think that coins with a good development team and supportive community will most likely survive in the future. Such coins are Ethereum, Cardano, Bitcoin, Decred, Stellar, NEM, and ZCash. With constant changes over their repositories, as well as demand for them over the cryptocurrency markets, these coins could not only survive in the future, but also become extremely popular as alternative payment systems.

Of course, the list of coins that might survive in the future could change over time as there have been cases where devs abandon a coin to switch to the next big thing. But, coins that could keep up with innovation and development would most likely succeed in the future. Hope this helps Smiley

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

I think CAT tokens by BitClave. It's my favorite project. Nowadays everything we deal with is data. The data drive robotics and electronics, our laptops, servers and much more. A lot of things, actually! I know it’s hard to believe when you hear it for the first time, but the online ads market is worth more than $550b. And it’s also data! The big corporations like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and others collect our data and sell it to advertisers. We think we use the Internet for free, but it’s not like that! There’s nothing for free in this world. We pay for it when we buy products and services because businesses are forced to advertise their products. And they are forced to go to monopolists(Google, Facebook, etc.) So, BitClave is building a decentralized monetized search engine. They’ve already got a few projects working in test mode. Think of it yourself. We’ll own our data. And in case we want to reveal it we’ll get paid by businesses. It will be our money and not Google’s or Facebook’s. Our data will be stored on a blockchain, and we’re gonna have private keys to protect it. Think of it yourself. It's also good for businesses. For the first time in the history of advertising, they'll be able to control their expenses for marketing on the Internet. I guess this video explains their concept well. They also have a Telegram group. Bitclave (https://t.me/BitClaveCommunity)

In my own personal opinion, i think they will actually survive because they have good value than other altcoins who has a low value that is why it is really worth to hold for the long term. There are so many altcoins who has a low value no one knows if they will all survive for a couple of years.

I would argue altcoin will survive even will continue to evolve into increasingly larger and spacious. This is because the condition of the people who have been very actively involved the development of technology and the Internet, as well as the desire to live more advanced, modern and fast in all services or facilities.

Many coins with centralized, business and utility feature will be the first to fall as they are proned to many factors, whereas simple, efficient, widely adopted monetary transaction coin might succeed in the future if endorsed by any consolidate power like country or association, these could be any blockchain projects or simply existing dash, monero, bitcoin or anything you named it

In order to altcoin to survive in the future, it must focus on solving a problem but that is not enough, along with a wide possible network and potential application this problem should not be completely resolved by the mainstream cryptocurrencies, these include Ripple, iOTA, NEM and Siacoin. Maybe ETH.
Is it counts as alternative currency?
All of them, alts are depending and bounded to ETH, so it seems logic to me, that is will surviver.

in my opinion i will choose ethereum, zcash, and litecoin
...For nowadays many altcoins have a bright future because of their good performance based on their individual potential. I think ethereum, litecoin, bitcoindash, neo and some other popular altcoins will survive in the future because they are still profitable.

I guess that Nebula Network will be one of coins that survive. It's first crypto with emission mechanism tied to the supply. Thanks of it it's rock stable.

Coins, whose creators pay increased attention to anonymity, have a good chance of success in the future. Privacy is optional in Zcash, so the currency is of interest to institutions for which anonymous transactions are important, private encryption and anonymous transactions have a bright future. Such coins as Monero, Verge or Zcash are a win-win option.
