Gambling and Superstition

I don't think that I'm superstitious but there are some numbers that I like more than others, and when i bet on lotteries or roulette games i bet on this numbers more than other random numbers.

1. I choose the number of parking slot that I will park. Usually it should have my favorite number 111,777 etc.
2. I don't want to wait for someone if he or she is going to go with in the casino.
3. I wear the same shirt that I won big.

For me being superstitious is in the mindset of the gambler, but I know not all gambler are like that. Because for them gamble is gamble, and every time I do gamble If I win thanks, and if I lose of course I'm sad. But that's a part of the games its normal ecosystem in the vicinity of gambling sites which this is the cycle in gambling world.

We do have different beliefs and we should respect some gamblers on the thing that they believe because as long they dont do anything harm to us its okay and we cant do anything about it since they do believe on that matter but for me i see no connection on these because luck does really matter on playing gambling.

I'm not superstitious anyway, But sometimes my experienced was every time I'm wearing blue colors in my clothes of course, most of my play games was I won in every round, then when I am wearing red colors in my clothes I always loss, I don't know if that is a kind of superstitious. then once again I'm not a superstitious believer.

Im not superstitious at all. We have tons of people that are addicted to wearing lucy charms like amulets and other stuff, like even praying and so on. I dont believe on any of that, it's all a game of raw statistics. Can we interfere on that? im not sure, but it all comes down to luck and nothing else. Be lucky to win.

Seriously though, when it comes to gambling I don't "believe" in superstitions per se, but I do indulge/take part in some just for the fun it.

For example, at a real life casino craps table, you are never supposed to say the word "seven" after the come out roll. If a roll of the dice hits someone's stack of chips, that means a roll of seven is imminent soon, so people will hold back on adding new bets and even take their odds bets down/turn them off. And my favorite, the female virgin roller. A female who has never rolled before is supposed to bring extra good luck to the table when she shoots for the first time. When a virgin roller is announced, the chips and bets come a'flying at the table.

For me, gambling superstitions are just fun. Some people take superstitions seriously, but who cares. Better than those who pray to their god to help them win in gambling. As if their god has nothing better to do than to enable some degen gambler. lol

Lol bad you do believe with luck and bad luck isn't that superstition?  You just contradict yourself. LOL.  Gambling is a game of chance, no luck or bad luck will affect you.  It is pure mathematical hashes (something like that) and a chance or the possibility of you hitting the next result. It is as said, internally calculated by the system and there is no outside factor that will affect it unless you hack the system and inject something the the internal system that will allow you to modify or control the result.  Yet still, it is done inside the system.

Hehe you are superstitious mate then for sure because I am not superstitious and the only numbers I sometimes particularly choose is because they haven't arrived since long time. Like in a lottery number 7 hasn't come since 1 week then I chose that.

While it has same chance but at the same time its quite obvious that a single number cannot just vanish for a very long time. Its good being superstitious but betting just because you feel that way is wrong.

I was like losing a lot and then for couple of days I won a lot, what different I did was I was gambling on laptop earlier while on desktop later. Its pretty dumb to believe these things but really this was the case for me.

I dont habe any superstition because it is nonesense and untrue with no facts behind it. It is just a feeling you get and doesnt mean anything. If a superstition was real people would be profiting from it and it would be exposed and then we basically will call it magic which doesnt exist.

Superstition is a good way to get into debt and trouble with gambling if you keep thinking something is a sure win you are sure to eventually lose when it catches up to you.

Well, when you gamble, you can actually win from time to time, i am not sure why do you think it's because of laptop. If you have 10 laptops, and you gamble on 10 sites, you will probably win on 1 laptop and 1 site, it doesn't mean that other laptops are bringing you bad luck.

It's good if it is really true. So you are saying you can just gamble without any strategy? And you don't have this feeling that if there were a lot of times something didn't show up, it's likely to be now (in dice)? I thought this is impossible and that's why we all are superstitious at least in a way, because we ignore the facts and believe in something behind the facts which can make us win or lose, although it is empirically proven even by us, that it is wrong.

Yes its really funny to think that some people do believe on these kind of things but we cant do anything about it because they do believe that those thing will really give them or increase the luck they do have. They get used to it because chances are still 50-50 if they won using that beliefs they will use it again on next game and if it lose then wont mind at all since he strongly believe.

Of course it is funny, otherwise today i would gamble with one black and one white sock, with stinky short, my phone would be on right side of table, with crossed legs, stairway to haven would be on, with my left hand picking nose, not to mention other items on table. I suppose that for every win you could find one magic lucky item

I think he is not saying anything about gambling without any strategies. He said :

I think he said that in the way that he know the facts in gambling including winning and losing, he also said reasons which means he has reasons to stop and continue gambling.
I think he never take seriously gambling and take that as a hobby or just a past time.
I do really gamble as a past time without any Superstition. I think if i add superstitions in my fun gambling activity, it will be boring.

I am not superstitious when i'm gambling. I don't even believe in superstitions. My understanding in gambling is its highly a pure luck of game. Even if you have many strategies to use or superstitions to follow but you are not lucky that time you are gambling you won't still win from it.

There is no certain in gambling. It was designed for people to lose or win. No one always win, most if the time people lose. However, I agree that superstitions can be a guide for every round, yet it does not give guarantie lf winning. Chance of winning our upon ourselves, it's a matter of luck. The only way of winning the game depeneds no other one but ourselves.
