It depends on individual ideology.
Some people strongly believe superstition in playing gambling, but some people don't have any believe in superstition while playing gambling. But it is very unfortunate that, living in a techno age, many of them are relying on luck or superstition.

I don't want to relate superstition with gambling, Because these two things are totally different from each other.

You'd be surprised how many people do. I'd say at least 10% of people on earth are more or less superstitious.
Ask your family how many of them believe in bad luck or luck in general and you'll see.

I do believe too but believing in God is nothing you can laugh off or create fun about that, I have my own feelings and some incidents which make me firmly believe in him.

I would never trust someone whom I cannot feel, anyways that is getting off topic. I have a personal case where if I gamble with my daughter I always wins, please try the same with yourself and tell me if this works for you too. Don't tell the daughter about gambling though mine is too little and sweet to understand something.

Gambling and superstition have a firm relation between them. I have seen many gambler have their own odd way of betting like they would first go to the church in morning they they gamble and they believe this way God forgives them for all the sins and the good things will come to them.

While I truly respect that fact but I really think that no matter if you are a nice person or not your gambling wins and losses are just based on chances and maths.

Don't know the superstition or not, but when I visit the arcade I never played on a slot machine after a win. I turn on another machine. My friend actually pays people which follow the machines in which you had no winnings.

Here in my country where even in the age of Facebook, Instagram and Spotify you will notice a lot of gamblers still believe in superstition like its good luck to use Birthday of your family members if you plan to play lottery. Some would even go as far as buying goodluck charms that they need to bring if they plan to go to Casino.

I will admit I'm very supertitious when going to a land based casino.
1. I choose the number of parking slot that I will park. Usually it should have my favorite number 111,777 etc.
2. I don't want to wait for someone if he or she is going to go with in the casino.
3. I wear the same shirt that I won big.

It's illogical but I'm still superstitious, I think it just gives me comfort and makes me less nervous because I obviously know it doesn't change anything at all, I'm a statistician after all.

Nope. So much so that I recognize what a stupid idea gambling is. But I think superstition rules in many markets. In fact it is how I make my money in markets. Look for blind trust, unfounded beliefs, etc. Then bet against them.

People are naive, and they always seeking for an cheap and understandable reason, instead to try to figure it out math behind whole life and universe. There is no God, Luck, even emotions are just chemicals in our brain. Neglecting facts we actually support stupidity, our insecurities are made by lack of knowledge.

Such technical thinking ? I mean yes we must not rely on luck or God too much but if believing in God gives us a good feeling and a positive energy around us then what's the problem in believing in superstitious things and all ?

You believe in something because that gives you a good feeling, we don't believe in ghosts because that gives us a poor feeling mate.

No I’m not superstitious at all, since that has no relationship between what we do and what it happens when we gamble, it is nice to believe you may have an object that could affect the probabilities of an event happening but that is simply not the way things work.

It's not my priority, to believe superstition is just a matter of choice. If you are a believer and the time you had decided to believe a superstitious belief did gave you a good result. It's a coincidence because I don't believe with it anymore, our fate is in our hands and the way we will be good at handling our gambling money.

That is where the fun is actually, we love to explore and sometimes we act so unrealistic in gambling which would result for us to be eager to gamble hoping we can win. It's common to most gamblers because we think a certain event or a thing could change the outcome and would favor us, but the operators does not think that way, they have their probability and they ensure they have the edge over us.

Agreed, there is nothing to be given concern with the winning in gambling. It's all about the coincidence, when someone is superstitious and wins then he believes everything has happened because of superstition, but the reality is because of luck or selection of right odds on analysis.

This is even worse, you need something to motivate you, try to find this in yourself, not in an empty space. All religion have only one in common tendency to govern, mixes our feelings and causing fear even from our shadows. In modern time this all lose sense, and superstition is worst kind of twisted beliefs, this way we only showing our deep weaknesses.
This is is irrational and without any logic, better focus on probability models and statistical analysis, yes it is hard..

What you said it's correct, but one thing you observe those who say they won money in gambling because of superstitious. It looks it's right. Yes for example if they play in a different place they will lose their bet. But if they play in a lucky place they will win. It is true, and I saw this kind of people in my real life. But finally, i agreed that winning in gambling is depend on our luck.

Well nobody can prove luck or superstition but sometimes we get inner intuitions that if we are prompted to do are accurate and yield perfect results, so I will say superstition can be a part of gambling sometimes but not all the time as we often need the skills to gamble but if you have that positive feelings to do it another way I bet that also works even above the skill.

I have seen some gamblers doing really crazy things while they gamble, but it didn't bring them any luck at all.
I don't believe in superstition, nothing can change outcome, not some crazy items, wearing the same clothes etc, gambling is just math game with odds against you, nothing more.
