There are different types of gamblers and some are being superstitious and they do not really bother analyzing their real chances of winning based on the nature of the game, however it's not a big deal because in the end we are still gonna lose so let's enjoy whatever our method is.

To avoid losses only gamblers are going for superstitious practices. This is kind of maximizing your luck factor so that you can be sure that you will not lose like an usual day. This could really work, or just because of our luck we will win our games. In my place, people will sit one place and play card games that place is their lucky place. Few friends are there they will win most of the times if they in that place. So they prefer only that place to play card games. Like that in your condition, the dress code also helps people to win money in gambling. This looks funny, but it works. 

You would really say that thing works if luck is on your side together the same time on doing your beliefs which you would say that you will do such thing on another day on playing gambling. I will bet that you will still lose up even if you are on the lucky position which you strongly believe. I think you can have your enjoyment when your friends are around, but when you are alone, you will just be getting depression and addiction. I believe luck does not exist, luck itself is a superstition/fallacy.   In gambling there is no such thing as luck in scientific explanation.  Same goes with superstition, we tend to say that it is not true because there is no scientific explanation  behind it.   I wonder why majority of us are in selective mode.  We do not believe in superstition because there is no science behind it but believe in luck even though there is also no science behind it.  GAmbling is all chance or probability.

Absolutely! Gambling is something highly destructive in nature. The worst thing about gambling is that it makes you addicted to betting on your money even if you are losing continuously. Ya it is upto the users luck position it works if it is working good for you with coffee and seating position then it is good but dont think that this superstition will work for long because luck always change so the position also, my suggestion is that when the same setting work for some time and when you start loosing then better change the position or just leave betting for some time or days and then come back fresh with same or another position to play and win. This way if you play you will be in profit.
