So should I continue to even bother writing this donation-ware program for bitcoin? Or will bitcoin be dead by the end of the week?

Also a recap of why the drop happened would be nice.

My understanding is:
- China fud (even though they didn't lead this drop whatsoever and from what I can tell they still are not)
- ghash.io was close to 51% but is now 43%
-sr coins for sale by fbi. But isn't it a good thing criminals got cleaned out?

Am I missing something important? Or is this the weak hands shake down.

No offense, really! But take a look at a 1+ year graph. These things have happened before. A lot. A helluva lot.

So I take it that I summed up what is going on. I know I'm new to the forum. Also wasn't the last major drop caused by china fud and the chinese exchanges lead that drop from 1k+ peak? This drop seems very much different in nature.

Yup - this is just traders selling and people who bought above $600 panicking. The rest holds Smiley

This is looking like a 2012 after 2011 bubble, while the infrastructure was not there for the last year valuation ($1200 bubble ) I thought somehow the price will hold for it to catch up..... but it seems that I was really wrong.

I also thought that there will be a bubble between May and the half of June so I kept holding, I bought most of my coins between $10-100 and did cash just small amount of it at the December bubble, bet hell I wont be greedy and watch the price fall even further, I sold Half of my holdings yesterday, This will give me a free couple of years vacation...

Just remindin y'all: The monkey is still planning to reverse his daily basis btc short to a long position 3 days hence.

Monkey advises holders to hold, traders to trade, and haters to hate, that the cup be filled.  Drinking comes later.  He said this while seated in lotus position, and I could almost have sworn that there was a 2cm air gap between him and the floor.

Well, there was some China FUD. No one knows whether people still care. The FBI thing... well it's not that many coins but people will always try and trade on that. Same with the GHash.IO thing. We went up to the high 600s pretty quickly and then remained stagnating on that level. Everyone was waiting. And a couple of bad news will start the traders to short things. Things go downhill from there.
Look at it this way: if when things are over, this point becomes support.

Even if it is, assuming the same pattern, we'd be at the foot of the flat hill now.

Good luck with that (seems a bit short sighted to plan a 2 year vacation when BTC is going to go up a lot in the next few months), and let us know, in a couple of years (or even in six months) how you then feel about deciding to take that vacation with your BTC revenues.  Smiley

Bitcoin is such an awesome investment, it's now the same price it was exactly 8 months ago.  Yay!

/s

That's high risks investments for you. If you lose money there is noone to blame but yourself.

Torque: So what happened to the dollars in your retirement account in the same timespan?
