Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

So should I continue to even bother writing this donation-ware program for bitcoin? Or will bitcoin be dead by the end of the week?
Also a recap of why the drop happened would be nice.
My understanding is: - China fud (even though they didn't lead this drop whatsoever and from what I can tell they still are not) - ghash.io was close to 51% but is now 43% -sr coins for sale by fbi. But isn't it a good thing criminals got cleaned out?
Am I missing something important? Or is this the weak hands shake down.

Meaning that some old coins have been dumped (or at least moved to exchanges). Not so many yet. If we'll see 2x -3x that number, then it will be really bearish.

'Date Registered: April 18, 2014, 03:20:06 PM' Are really only active since then? No offense, really! But take a look at a 1+ year graph. These things have happened before. A lot. A helluva lot.

Bitcoin is such an awesome investment, it's now the same price it was around 8 months ago. Yay!
/s
So what price the same as 8 months ago? Such short term thinking, no? You gotta have a little patience, NO? be willing to ride this baby in the ups and the downs, NO? Does NOT make bitcoin a bad investment merely b/c the next uptrend has been delayed by a few months or even by a year or so.... Maybe whether BTC is a good or bad investment depends upon your timeline and how anxious you are to receive a turnaround in your investment?
