The bill laid down the technological and social developments that could be achieved if the decentralized currency was accepted. “Industries in emerging technologies could play an increasingly important role in Utah’s economy and culture; the State must remain open to new technologies and ideas to continue attracting talented and educated entrepreneurs to the state.”

That Resolution (not law, passed by a very narrow margin) merely creates a Council to study the issue, but study it very carefully:

65     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature and the Governor encourage the
66     council to share its findings, including recommendations, with the Revenue and Taxation
67     Interim Committee before September 1, 2016.

 

It also says

68          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Utah state
69     treasurer, the director of the Division of Finance, the executive director of the Governor's
70     Office of Management and Budget, the executive director of the State Tax Commission, local
71     advocacy groups that support the use of bitcoin, and other public or private entities that may
72     have interest in the Council on Payment Options for State Services as proposed by this
73     resolution.

And what about Litecoin, Dogecoin, or Monero?  I thought that in Utah a man was "able to share his love with as many cryptocoins as he likes" ...

This thread feels so weird with so much positive energy lately.

I'm starting to miss those trolls with the 255 different sock puppet accounts posting rubbish and non sense that even they don't truly believe what they're posting.

Maybe they're waiting for the Marshall's auction before making a cameo again, who knows.  We need more Bitcoin going to $0, Ripple and Stellar are king, you'll never unseat Gold, Silver, aluminum foil type posts...

Where's the consolidation everyone seems to be waiting for? I can only see the price going up again. Stamp has closed up on Finex and Finex seems to be on the rise as well again...
