Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I hope the 'excitement' surrounding today's 6 USD rise was sarcastic. Wake me up in about 5 years when we might have something to party over!

that pump was to get bitcoin to give bitfinex some breathing room. bitfinex doesnt like it when bitcoin price is down there hugging 227 like that all the time.. when the chinese miner tried to dump into the bitfinex wall the chinese miner got chumped when they took all his coins from him at 226 - 224 and then turn around pumped to 232..

They have patent wars in America where a multitude of companies are suing each other over vaguely worded ideas hidden in patents. I remember someone sued Apple because they had patented some extremely vague idea for a menu or something. Apple paid them millions. I doubt Coinbase will be granted a patent for a tip button because its already been demonstrated in public, but they might get a patent for something just as basic that hasn't been demonstrated publicly yet.

Yup. It's madness. There are companies out there entirely dedicated to combing through patents and bullying businesses. These businesses are pretty much obliged to roll over and pay out. America definitely has some deeply bizarre legal quirks.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we had a little action last night but we seem to be coming back to $230 pretty consistently lately.

Must be driving the daytraders crazy. Long-term holders yawn.

Putting a dollar value on it is difficult. I hope to never sell any bitcoins for fiat currency but rather spend them for goods and services. Who knows what the dollar will be worth?

That said, I'd hope to see at least $10k within a few years, in today's dollars. If the dollar tanks, multiply accordingly.

I had an anxiety dream where we hit $103k but all the exchanges were smashed with traffic and I couldn't take any profits in fiat.
