I was hodling no matter what happened to the price, then Gavin announced Craig Wright had proved he is Satoshi. I panic dumped right at the bottom, then had to buy back after it became clear it was all bull. I'd never have panic dumped if it wasn't for all the Satoshi lies.

Seriously, what was your rationale for dumping?

Come on, if Satoshi really was Craig Wright it would have started a dump down to the pits of hell. You could see it starting, then stopping when people started to digest all the information and realise there was no proof.

LOL silly humans, how can you not see that this is the EXACT REASON why he just didn't move BTC1MM. Don't know if he is/not Satoshi but he's at least smart enough to prevent a bunch of people reacting like poncom. Give out news one cryptic bit at a time and let the market digest it. Also, some people gain notoriety by discovering planets, and some by burning churches. His life would probably change dramatically.  

Well it would be nice if he didn't back out of giving his "cryptic" news out, and decided to carry through. He's backing out saying "He's not strong enough" and we can assume he has no evidence to support his claims if he starts to exhibit this sort of behaviour. It would be easy enough for him to send a signed message from the wallet and verify himself that way, and he wouldn't have to back out and leave his claims.

it'll only be nice because you/and most people, like the drama, and feel the need to resolve this riddle. But what's the point? Do you know or care who created Internet?
So for better or worse Wright is milking that need to know feeling as much as he can. Personally think it's better because it gradually confirms the fact, rather than the alternative of suddenly seeing those coins moved, you are satisfied and feel good about yourself, other like poncom short the hell out of BTC, and many will feel a need for guidance from THE Satoshi on all current issues.

Whether his dick is that big or not, it seems likely that he has either been using the large super computer to attempt to crack private keys (and Satoshi's specifically) or to engage in other scams to make appearances and maybe to swindle and or blackmail folks.   Potentially, he could have made decent money on this latest announcement; however, it may not have worked out so well, if the market did not drop as much as he (they) were hoping.   I am not really into attributing malevolence to people, but this guy is really building a case for himself - accordingly, he doesn't sound like a very well-intended dude.

There is not a shred of proof to back up any of that story. The guy in the cowboy hat who told it says "trust me" as his only proof. He talks vaguely about third parties who he refuses to name, vague dates he refuses to be specific about, and vague future events that he refuses to be pinned down on.

Shorting 'the hell' out of btc is not an easy job even for resourceful government actors. There is a strong organic demand for bitcoins. The risk is too big to divest yourself out of a very profitable investment and never get a second chance to get back at the same price level.

The 'tulip trust' game is an indication that Craig Wright most probably was a part of the 'Satoshi' group but not among the decision makers.

By "panic dumped," you mean sold for (at most) $12 lower than current spot? Well, you know what they say about weak hands...

Actually, any of us are capable of making various mistakes in how we treat our bitcoin holdings, and I have been guilty of some of these mistakes myself, wether you label it greed or portfolio protection - yet if you believe that you have pretty solid information that there is going to be a price movement of a few percentage points, it may be good to buy or sell accordingly with a percentage of your holdings.

I've done it a few times, and made mistakes, and in those instances, I had to lay off buying or selling for a while in order to recover. 

Specifically, I recall that in about mid November 2015,  I was buying (on the way down) and selling (on the way up) in about $5 price increments, and for some reason, I had engaged in some conduct, which I recall was that I had sold way more BTC than I should have at $315, and I said to myself, "shit, that's a screw up, and in order to make up for that screw up, I just have to refrain from either buying or selling until the price comes to my points."  Thereafter I did not permit myself either to buy or sell until either below $300 or above $329.  I did not know which price was going to occur first, and after I resolved to make that plan as a means to recover my portfolio, I did not really care which direction occurred first.  In that particular scenario, I recall that BTC prices fell below $300, I made my purchase, and thereafter I was able to resume my previous buy/sell techniques (with a bit of a lesson).

What about Cisco creating routers? Or people who created BGP? Or the guy that was single handedly running DNS for the longest time? All good people but how many people who use internet now know or care about them? And how much weight do they have on current RFCs?

Some of us actually were born and remember the time before HTML. Some of us even remember when computers used vacuum tubes, mechanical drum memory and punch card storage and i/o.

When we reach $449.99 on Stamp, I would like to see those 712 coins purchased immediately... hahahahahaha... then maybe play around a little bit, for an hour or two, and then when we reach $451.99, buy up those 381 coins, immediately. 

Are we ready for that?  Would those kinds of immediate buys cause any fireworks, or am I just wishfully thinking for upward BTC price movement that will not occur until next week?

If you knew anything about Toronto, you'd know it's mostly Anglophone with smatterings of Mandarin, Hindi, Portuguese, Italian and many others. It had a bad starting cap so would not spin up on it's own. But if we wrapped a cord on the shaft an got it spinning it would work. It's the only pull start computer I've ever seen.

Yeah, Bitfinex wall grew from 1.5k to 4.5k, then shrank back. But it was enough to make me close my long at a tiny loss (slippage and fees).
Let someone else attack that wall with force, then maybe I'll take a little bite too. I was expecting a little pump, but with low volume a 4.5k ask wall should hold.
