The only way I would get married is some sort of tax break or if I'm in the old age home and they give me a special dessert with my dinner when you get married.

Why would you live in an old age home when you could afford to hire and fire your own caregivers?

Enjoy life. Meet new people. Travel.

Marriage is a great institution, if you want to live in an institution. I'm too old for that.

What percentage does 2x need in order to lock in? and when will we know if its likely or not.

That seems to be part of the problem is that some of the likely disingenuous big blocker nujobs are spreading misinformation to suggest that it is already locked in merely from the NYA and signaling of segwit2x intention... which does not have any actual lock in vehicle.

Also if it has 90% support or so, will core still forge on with their non 2x chain?.

who says that it has 90% support?  You talking about segwit2x "intention?"  segwit2x intention does not seem to mean anything or have any implementation mechanisms.

I thought everything was great after the BCH split went smoothly and we were finished with this uncertainty but no such luck.

Maybe "everything" is not great, but right now, bitcoin remains BULLISH AS FUCK.

"This time, the bitcoin mania, which has dwarfed even the Tulip Bulb lunacy, should become the posterchild graduate school case study for not only finance, but also psychology, sociology, and perhaps other disciplines. Ironically, for lacking discipline!

Friends don't let friends hold bitcoin below $2,900, the line in the sand of sell-stop protection. Otherwise, in the near future, one could be wishing they'd sold this $3,500 zone, as bitcoin breaks under $35, with growing potential for $3.50."[/i]
That idiot is more stupid and butthurt than professor Bitkorn. You really need to be delusional or have ulterior motives to write/predict something like that. I'll buy all your Bitcoin at $3.5 per piece.

Meanwhile, the price gif has been updated and future proofed:

For fork's sake! Bitcoin Core braces for another cryptocurrency split: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/08/08/bitcoin_core_fork_cryptocurrency/
"This is basically a sign from Bitcoin Core that they do not regard SegWit2x as being the real Bitcoin," explained Ryan X. Charles, CEO of Yours.org, in a YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ep4HtGgOdjw. "...This all but assures there will be another split when SegWit2x occurs."

Yeah, this time chinese miners will get rekt mining 2x bitcoin with declining price to 200$ and below. BTC brand is reserved for bitcoin core, so it will be the real bitcoin for some at least. The problem is that this contentious split will scare most ot the traders and they will start panic selling down to 40-50% from the ATH. At least this what happened many times this year.  But this is just the beginnig of the drama. Core dev's are planning for a change of POW (asic resistent of course), so that they will enforce the new version of core's software to work even if 100% of the pools are mining 2x bitcoin. If that scenario happens, I would expect a further price plummeting.  Huh

Yeah... Fuck!!!!!!!

I expect BTC's prices to plummet somewhere into the $4800 to $6800 price territory...  Cry Cry

Brexit bollocks

I thought decentralization was good?

Which part of being ruled solely by a corrupt and incompetent government that's set on doing away with human rights in a move that's going to destroy trade relations and prevent free movement of its own citizens do you consider "decentralization"?

Is a Bitcoin miner mining alone in a prison cell with a brutal prison guard, on a processor taken from a Commodore 64 and with no internet connection a more decentralized solution than the whole rest of the Bitcoin network?

wow, poisoning the well and a straw man in one sentence

I doubt there is any utility in further engagement on this topic

Oh I'm sorry, I hadn't realised from your flippant remark that you were interested in discussing Brexit. That's why I used an analogy to get my points across quicker about why Brexit is a complete clusterfuck. My analogy may not have been perfect but that isn't the same as a straw man, neither does it invalidate my points. It's a very worrying time for those of us who live in Europe since our whole future is on the line and the UK has so far refused to collaborate with the EU to guarantee our rights in our now home countries.

Decentralisation might be good when it comes to money but when it comes to countries leaving the EU, that's actually more like auto-isolation, severing ties with the outside world. And no less centralised because the UK will now be ruled by one bastard government that cannot be trusted, instead of having the other 27 countries of the EU to moderate.

Unfortunately many British voters on 23rd June last year just cried "Yay, independence!  Sovereignty!" And yes some probably also cried "Yay, decentralisation!" Without thinking through the implications and consequences. And that's how we're in this mess in the first place.

So I'm heading off to thailand fully paid for by the free coins tomorrow, and I need a new suitcase. I'm thinking pink for easy visibility, but maybe an ugly yellow would work too. Thoughts?

I did a week in Thailand a few months ago. Great time, beautiful women. Cheap prices. You start to decide whether you want a nicer hotel for $45 or just go with a regular one for $25. Went to one of the islands and spent $200/night on a 5 star luxury hotel with a stairway to the pool right off of my patio on the ocean (sea?).

I plan on retiring in January and will go live there. Got a beautiful gf out of the deal as well.

sounds like a good plan. I am happy it all works out for you. was thinking about the caribbean, but in thailand my coins will last much longer I guess. once you have settled, can I pay you a short visit?

It seems that the Saturday pump group is desperately trying to reach 4k price before dumping again to 2k and below. They spent all their 10% profit to recover the price fall from yesterday, so they are hoping the naiive traders to make them a gift for another 10% increase. Anyway, the incoming contentious HF on 1 Nov is not the same as BCH split. Wu just admitted he wants an altcoin and the community was ok with that. This time each party will claim that 2x and core are the legacy bitcoin. But there is place for only one king of the cryptocurency! If we have 2 kings we can't expect the upward price trend to continue anymore. More likely, the 2 new bitcoins will share the fate of BCH trading from 100$ to 1000$ then back to 300$ each.

Bro 2K?? Wth r u smokin?? Cheesy Maybe You want to say 3k after 4k? 2k would be minus 50%...no so low did not expect  Cool

Yes. They were lied to.  There should never have been a referendum, it was only to neutralise the Ukip threat to the Tories.  Cameron expected another coalition with the Liberals and that they would veto the referendum anyway.  Then he assumed he would of course win it.  Then Boris and Gove et al simply lied and played the debating game, along with the race card.  Massive, catastrophic fail.

UK shamed, out and alone. The best example of a relative multicultural success that is the wonderful city of London will lose its preeminent shine.

The decision to leave Europe is a disaster by any measure I have seen and we haven't even actually left yet.

if you haven't recovered from your socialist indoctrination, fine, it takes time, and we all do it at different rates
but can we stop with the reactionary statist claptrap, guys; it's vomitorious ffs in a bitcoin thread.
bitcoin is about creating sovereign individuals not sovereign states
you can't be fine with undoing central banks but somehow not fine with undoing central governments

Each party can claim.... but only one will have the majority hash power -I think the value will follow the chain with the most- which will be the Segwitx2 chain from the looks of things at the moment......

 ....game of chicken.

(most users it seems ,prefer to err on the side of caution - and simply opt to keep both /all three coins anyways- so for users and hodlrs its not much of an issue... for the pesky bitcoiners trying to one up their comrades in this zero sum game with aggressive trading to accumulate  more coins... it is more of a problem... I expect the exchanges to be less accommodating this time...though we shall see) ...oh and of course it is a problem for Core

ps- I am not a fan of this fork trend-  fork away- its grand and all that- but get yer own feckin logo and name... but its OUR name- no its OURS!! Grrrrr which part of "$50 Billion dollars" and "the world is watching" does not compute for these clowns?

pps- I don't really think that, I am just grouchy AF today..
