Help me with your thoughts on bitcoin futures. If 1 contract 100 bitcoins? 900k USD? and there was i think today 3000 buy/sell (or with other words 3000 combined going long + going short) So 3000 times 900k usd = 2,7 billion USD in one day Am i gettting this right ? i think not
I didnt get any repond so kindly if someone can answer me this please I would also add I am assuming (perhaps I am wrong?) bitcoin futures are direclty tied to bitcoin. So I am under assumtion if someone opens large volume of shorts for bitcoin futures, they go down, or if someone opens large volume of longs they go up ? http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/equity-index/us-index/bitcoin_contract_specifications.html No it's 5 btc per contract, so vol. is still tiny overall. Yes iirc CME is settled in btc, while CBOE is in usd http://cfe.cboe.com/cfe-products/xbt-cboe-bitcoin-futuresHere's their, generally bigger, volume http://cfe.cboe.com/cfe-products/xbt-cboe-bitcoin-futures with 1btc per contract compare https://www.barchart.com/futures/bitcoinYour final question - no, there is always a bigger fish who will counter-trade their competitors. edit: Some traders are noticing a small CME factor, where spot price draws towards week's close price on CME, but most are unconvinced, again because of tiny volume.

skip to the 48:00min mark for bitcoin talk (or waste 48 minutes ,whatever floats you boat)
"No i didnt make a 2018 projection of 78k" (looks away rubs his face) then it cuts to a clip of him making that very projection on that mis-infowars-claptrap show. what a frakking joke that nutcase gun toting clown is...
The never ending gunplay on display is fucking pitiful. The number one threat to his personal safety is having his brains blown out by one of the psychos he's employed and keeps tanked up on drugs and booze. I presume the Fedex guy fires packages at his house with an artillery piece from the safety of a few miles away, otherwise attempting to drop off that Hello Kitty backpack John ordered on Amazon might earn an arse full of hollow points.

McAfee is reversing his stance on bitcoin all the sudden. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBgFGwJA1D0Why does he have a gun to his head in the video preview. Is he shitting himself this much he will lose his bet for bitcoin to reach $$ by end of the year now? -He still thinks bitcoin will reach $1 million by end of 2020. -He no more remembers his prediction of $78000 for bitcoin by end of this year. -He is still very much optimistic about crypto-currencies and constantly repeated that it can't be stopped. -Overall, McAfee hasn't reversed his stance on bitcoin. -He likes guns (and making styles with it). If he is all in on bitcoin and not reversing stance and his previous predictions on it then why did he sell his mining farm? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNDReQkrxyQskip to the 48:00min mark for bitcoin talk (or waste 48 minutes ,whatever floats you boat)

It is funny how these rich former CEO types change their minds on the way the wind blows. Wasn't Bill Gates saying when bitcoin was at an all time high back in February that bitcoin payments were the future and now he is siding with Buffett in saying bitcoin is a fraud

Remember the thread where someone posted we will never see 10k again? Somehow I think this can be true.

Seems like the FUD has been extra thick lately. Hopefully it's the dip before we rally during blockchain week.

Weird times. It's like nobody gives a crap about crypto. Yet prices are still very high considering (bitcoin + alts). There is like one boring pump on augur to pretend the market is still alive lol.

There will always be a steady supply of noobs to keep it from bottoming completely. Whales know this, so they walk us down slow to scoop up as much krill as they can mouth. We'll hit $6k before we hit $10k. I bet
