Who said anything about crying ? I'm just drinking myself into a stupor until the price recovers. This is what my life has become. I am OK with that. But BTC Dominance 57% Lets celebrate Bawb! BTC Dominance: 57.2% Come to daddy..!!!!!!!!!!

^ Let the coffin be full of nails we don’t need an ETF and surely not This year..... i think most of everybody already thinks there’s No ETF happening any time soon
A few weeks ago, there was probably more uncertainty about whether an ETF will be approved this year or in the near future, but I agree with you, mic, that it is seeming to be more and more the case that "NO on the ETF this year" has become "priced into" our current BTC price situation, and therefore, no one is really going to give a ratt's ass about further disapprovals - yet on the other hand, if an ETF were to end up getting approved this year, then it likely would cause a surprised and excited upwards BTC price utterance. The ICE (NYSE parent company) partnered with Microsoft and Starbucks project "Bakkt" have got the "pedigree" that the SEC and CFTC is used too... and has a fairly good chance (above the other recent attempts) to actually get the go ahead for their platform... whether that happens on 5th Nov 2018 remains to be seen though... but it is certainly one to watch IMO... there could indeed be "fireworks" on (around) November the 5th. (this could be more important than the ETF's especially coupled with Custodian solutions a la Citigroup et al, if they get the go ahead for Bakkt, then a straight ETF a proper will likely follow for sure in 2019 as a side effect IMO, Bakkt is the one to watch atm) You could be correct, but I still stand by the words of my earlier post, and at this time I see the approval of an ETF in the USA to be less than 15% for 2018 and less than 31.5% for 2019. On the other hand, if some other country approves an ETF, that might force the hands of the USA government into approving such, in order NOT to get left too far behind....

BTC Dominance: 57.2% Come to daddy..!!!!!!!!!!All well and good, unless larger whales (myself living on crypto for retirement (or trying to) off the Altcoins hoard first) anyway, unless like myself and or bigger whales are simply dumping altcoins to pay off banks for data halls and losses on btc and other equipment this past year. Thus keeping BTC as a hedge but getting rid of expenses on such projects. (I know of at least 3 folk in this bind with data halls). Not to be a downer..but, that just means they have not (with these prices) gotten to selling BTC yet for the same reason. (like me retirement and/or cutting expenses/losses etc from the bank etc on such and hoping and hodl'ing btc for the rebound) Thus the altcoins are sacrificed to the crypto gods first, is what we are seeing at these prices....if/when that hoard is exausted...if same downward trend btc will be next. (I love BTC but, if it comes to working for some idiot and/or burning it all till my full retirement on traditional investments then and soc security..I'll burn altcoins/btc and it all...I really, really, like not working for a living!) Sorry, that is the reality as I see it if BTC prices (taking altcoins with it) continue to sink to 5k say or below. brad

Great article on cnn money today about a guy who lost it all "on bitcoin". Turns out he bought in November, got the nice big run up, then started huffing Ether and Bitcoin Cash and now has lost 95% of "his investment"
Boo fucking hoo dude. Shouldn't have gone into those shitcoins.

Indeed... feels weird tho... Let's c next week where we are at... Really Really interesting week ahead of us... Yes.. let's see next week, but we are also seeing what is happening this week, and it is an ongoing dump in process that could end up in a kind of dramatic capitulation that brings the product to 2 digits (not sure if it will stay there, though?). Originally, about 4 years ago, I had thought ETH had a value in the less than $10 range, sustainably. Of course, I was proven wrong, and the building of a large number of ICOs and various shit products upon ETH has shown that it has some value - including the value to raise capital from individual investors (if you can label 14 year old snot noses as "investors?).

If you want a new hobby come short ETH on light leverage with tight stops. It’s very satisfying and healthier than drinking all day.

I think the point is that in respect of ETH, traders/holders really have a reason to sell: ICO's are dead. The main selling point of ETH: gone. No Future (although it won't go to $0.00) Should ICO's become a thing again, higher powered chains may take over (EOS, Telos, Tron, whatever). For now, alts that have their main trading pair in ETH have suffered immensely as well. But I can see alts decoupling from ETH (i.e., ETH going deeper down while ERC20 tokens stabilise in USD price; the world turned upside down ). The narrative of Bitcoin still stands: Digital Gold (I am still doubting whether LN is viable to support the 'payment system' narrative). But there is a danger that the outflow out of ETH and other alts into Bitcoin may dry up. When we reach that point, will there be enough 'native' demand for Bitcoin to avoid a true bear market (like, going convincingly below 200 MA on the daily, just like the other bear markets)? The times they are a-changin'

So a whale removes or sells all ?
I suppose that they didn't have enough BTC on the hot wallet to fulfill all current withdrawal requests and just added new funds to ensure withdrawal of funds Yes, that's not good news Why not? I think it's very good news. The more delivery taken the less for sale. Those are going into cold wallets most likely. It would be a horrible way to arbitrage.
