Kelly Loeffler, CEO Bakkt:
Quote
A critical element to price discovery is physical delivery. Specifically, with our solution, the buying and selling of Bitcoin is fully collateralized or pre-funded. As such, our new daily Bitcoin contract will not be traded on margin, use leverage, or serve to create a paper claim on a real asset. This supports market integrity and differentiates our effort from existing futures and crypto exchanges which allow for margin, leverage and cash settlement. Coupled with a secure, regulated warehouse solution, you can begin to see how this market infrastructure can help more institutions and consumers participate in the asset class.

https://medium.com/bakkt-blog/https-medium-com-kellyloeffler-price-discovery-f9c77885383

still need to know if they are going to use leverage within their own company
https://twitter.com/CaitlinLong_/status/1031565897167765505

Can't get on Twitter right now, but will check once I can.  It seems they are trying to dodge claims of paper Bitcoin being created by rehypothecation, - and saying 'we will do Bitcoin differently'.  I am still sceptical.  Leopard.. Spots...

EDIT: I read Caitlin Long's points, she is asking the questions and has been a long term advocate of shares on the Blockchain to prevent things like the Dole Foods shares problem:

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Poor kid, can't believe he's going to spend all of his remaining lifetime in the prison just for trading between bitcoin/fiat for a little bit of commission. Roll Eyes

Yeah - pretty SERIOUS cash involved:

"According to AUSA Ciaffa, Burrell’s activities “blew a giant hole” through the legal framework of U.S. anti-money laundering laws by soliciting and introducing into the U.S. banking system close to $1 million in unregulated cash."

'A million dollars'?  I think there's a meme for this somewhere....

Jeez, he could have made up to fifty thousand bucks.

Any American should've realised long ago that if they dab their anus with someone else's 1 dollar bill that's enough to get you 1 trillion years in prison, that's if you don't have the local police roll out their M1 Abrams, paid for by civil asset forfeiture, and empty it in your face.

{hate speech} as per usual.
SPEECHLESS .. Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry SOBs..!!!!! and that was back on August 4th.. !!!!!!!!!!!! WOW  Angry Angry... Again, Speechless...

Quoting the roaches racists shit is a "ignorable" offense, FYI.

Using the left's weaponized language isn't much better.

Hah!, I don't even know what that is!

ADDED: Is that like the dark state or something?

I just don't read all that Q shit.

"hate speech"... it's a phrase cooked up by alinskyites to delegitimize and deplatform their political opponents without actually addressing the content of their message. It's like saying "conspiracy theorist" or "denier" instead of skeptic. It's politically weaponized language. I don't know if roaches claim is true or not, but if it is true than there certainly isn't anything wrong with speaking truth. Except for being off topic of course. So if you really wanted to attack it than you should attack it on the grounds of being either untrue, unimportant even if it were true, or off topic. Not on the grounds that it's "hate speech" which is basically saying "shouldn't be allowed because it makes me feel neggies" (coining that word right now, means like feeling negative emotions, but in a sarcastic making fun of snowflakes kinda way).

I'm not defending roach here. Just things like "hate speech" or "conspiracy theorist" are almost as annoying as euphemisms like "people of color" or "undocumented immigrant". Grinds my gears you know.

Anyway I don't want to go down a rabbit hole here in this thread so we should go elsewhere if anyone wants to pursue it further.

Thanks Jbear.  I must admit with all the BCH forks flying around I am losing track of which BCH is supposed to be the real BCH.  Is it the Peter R or Alex F version or someone else’s?

You seem to be unable to discern the difference between: an instance of a blockchain; and a proposal for an instance of a client.

So is the instance of the client with OP_Group enabled the real BCH client or is the real BCH client the one without OP_Group?

Download 'em, run 'em, and see which work on the blockchain.

Oh, you can't? You won't? Not my problem.

I am fairly confident each will work on their respective blockchains.  Unless you are telling us with utmost confidence that Bcash lol won’t HF in November?

No. I am saying that we know not yet which implementation will collect critical mass. Chances are, the miners will mass 99% behind the implementation they prefer, and the 1% will crawl off into obscurity, capitulation, and subsequent chain death. Unless, of course, reality slaps the lagging implementation in the face leading to a kumbaya moment.

California...it figures.

Dude won't get fair treatment.

Looks like he was selling BTC on localbitcoins and made about $37k which puts him about at the lowest tax bracket so at least he doesn't need to worry about a capital gains tax violation.

He was selling in California, sending the money to Bitfinex and converting back to BTC. For this they considered it "International Money Laundering".

Them throwing out numbers like $750k, $1 million, etc. is all bullshit. They even said he did 971 separate transactions. That's less than $800 per sale on average.

The judge even threw in his general disdain for US laws as a reason to not give him bail. Ya think?

I guess we all need to start acting all super patriotic and love the nazi laws publicly so that when they try to throw us in jail because we're "required to register with the Department of Treasury" for our bitcoin transactions we can get bail.

All future posts by me will be super patriotic and utter bullshit. I expect I may need to return to the US at some point for funerals and such so I must act like a Jew in Nazi Germany or a proletariat in the Soviet Union.

God Bless the USA!

He engages in convoluted distractions including frequently attempting to suggest that there were some kind of burden on others to prove him to be wrong rather than him having both the burden of production of evidence and persuasion about the relevance and strength of that evidence, and further if he were such a supposed genius, he would present his ideas and refrain from ad hominem bullshit....

You are delusional, JJG. In your discussions with Shelby, he provided sound reasoning based upon solid evidence supported by links documenting the evidence.

Bullshit.  He provided convolution and distorted speculation.

How would you know? You never read the provided evidence.

I read enough to reach my conclusions. If there was some kind of warrant for looking at the matter closer, then possibly I would have done that, but Anunymint/Shelby did not make any such presentation.. and so far I have not seen any reason to revisit my conclusions that the guy is largely a troll nutjob that is engaged in spreading FUD nonsense rather than attempting to build and contribute.

Furthermore, Anunymint/Shelby is and remains a banned person from this forum (the fucktard), so I don't understand what purpose it serves to idolize and put such banned person on a pedestal when he does not have enough posting smarts to NOT get banned (which includes my already assertion that it takes a whole hell-of-a-lot of posting of bullshit nonsense in order to get banned from this forum, which Anunymint/shelby has accomplished on numerous occasions, which also substantiates the likelihood that his ideas don't really deserve any special treatment because even he was not able to present them without unnecessary and irrelevant provocations.

Another point is that you should also look in the mirror, perhaps, and attempt to figure out why it is so important for you to want to continue to bring up bullshit points and to revere nonsense ideas of a banned person as if his ideas and even his person were/was more than they were?

Buying is not really the hardest part.

Not selling when it pumps or dumps insanely is.

Yeah, I remember myself struggling not to sell my extra BTC I got from dumping BCH during the $20k+ December pump.  Grin

It felt good to sell some at $19,000, just to say I did.  Grin

of course just one week before that I was waiting patiently for $10K to sell.

What a wild ride.

Some people are just beyond help and shouldn't be engaged. Flat earthers, scientologists, and roach are just going for publicity or trying to brainwash people. Engaging them just makes them feel more righteous and legitimizes them. Sort of like if i wanted to start spreading a belief that everyone who doesn't agree with me is a zombie controlled by squirrels that live deep deep underground. And don't you dare call it a conspiracy!
