A home is a capital depreciating asset. Bitcoin isn’t.

BUT we do like to live in one  Grin

I get it, but what if we reverse it for an argument's sake.
Can you live IN bitcoin?
A trippy question harking back to "Being John Malkovich"

Can bitcoin be a "vessel"?
This would be clear only to those who watched the movie.
Eventually, at least younger of us would be digitized and reduced to being a digital "presence".
Maybe, then.

Yes. Spend a portion of a percentage of a small part to buy a mansion. Done and done.

My gf is pretty angry at me regarding bitcoin to be honest. If I’d cashed out at the ATH I’d have become a millionaire. At the current prices with my HODLED stash, I’m not.

She keeps telling me ‘bitcoin is finished, it must be over, you should have cashed out, we’ll never get another chance like that’.

It’s times like this I look at different charts from the past that show % drops from ATH’s & then look at the subsequent recoveries & new ATH’s that makes me smile & know everything will be ok.

Look out for 6-12 months after the next halving, that’s when I believe we will be wealthy bulls Cheesy

Tell her your in it for the movement, not for the money.
You aren't here to get rich, but to make a difference.

She'll stop bothering you and might even respect you for it.
No. Kick her to the fucking curb mate. A relationship is built on trust, and she obviously doesn't trust you. The relationship is already over. Move on and do better.

Not to be a sexist dick, but the ladies should be kept unaware of crypto holdings. It allows easier thinking in times of trouble. If really, really necessary, one could sell what's needed and magically come up with the money when it's needed.

QFT

Chicks are good at spending money not managing it.

I respectfully disagree. A woman wort her salt is indeed able to save money, just like a man - maybe with different patterns and occasional "slips", but in the same ballpark if not even better.

Now I'm talking from a statistical point of view, so there are bound to be outliers, exceptions and everything, but in my experience the issue with the average woman is risk aversion. Women do have a long term perspective - and they'd better have a good one, since they are less "spendable" as time takes its toll - but they tend to be much more conservative than men. So I can't imagine the average woman buying at 200 and not selling at 1000.
Most women today are not worth anything. On the contrary, they are extremely costly. Consider the divorce laws and the fact that a thing like mgtow even exists.

So is this what the crypto winter felt like ?  Or still too cheerful?

Sentiment was much worse IMO.

For many, it was their first crypto winter. For all of us, it was the longest, and perhaps most depressing.

There were some serious questions about the future of Bitcoin, especially following the death of Mt. Gox. Even Andreas Antonopoulos was beginning to have doubts about the future of Bitcoin.

Yeah 2014 sucked, really bad!
Now I see the price has fallen so much but I’m far more confident about the future of bitcoin than I was then. At one stage price wise in late 2014/early 2015 I was more than 50% down (my HODLED coins) on my combined investment.

When this starts happening from all your family it is a strong buy signal.

Hodl out for the lower price. And then buy until the cows come home.

No pain, no gain.
This doesn't feel painful what's painful is the wife making me sell for the down payment on a home and soon. I'm going to lose out big.

understadble ,you would like to delay the house buying a bit for sure, but women stays women ,nothing to do about that

Personally I’d wait until mid 2021. I’d rent a couple more years & then buy the house outright in bitcoin.

Everybody has different circumstances though.

Right into the next housing bubble burst ... That would be nice timing  Grin

haha bubble burst and BTC ATH , what a moment would that be .......
if possible i would wait to but i know if the girl/wife wants it ..... than it has to go fast and no time for logic

Ain't that the truth about the logic  Cheesy

Agreed. My wife is mostly kept in the dark regarding my crypto. She knows I have some, but that's pretty much where it ends.

Edit: I trust her and she's the only other person who would be able to access my private keys. However, I handle all of our money and investments. And if she knew how much I had, she'd be bugging me about a new house.

There were more bears back then, and they were more confident the price couldn't rise. They were all acting like this one.

Meanwhile, Rodger loses whats left of his mental health...

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/9gb01i/you_can_now_use_bitcoin_bch_to_buy_any_kind_of/

Now he is spamming the same sentences in the comments desperately. All those millions he has and he still acts like a random paid shill. Amazing.

Not to mention he calls bcash "Bitcoin (BCH)" yet the link he posted says only bitcoin and doesn't say anything about bcash. He is a complete lunatic now.

Time to drop a truth bomb in here. Never tell any woman how much crypto you have. They do not love you, they love what you can do for them. If they think you have money, they will feel entitled to it.

It's your money and your Bitcoin yet shes "pretty angry". The fact that she says "we’ll never get another chance like that" pretty much tells me she does feel entitled to it and she feels that those realized losses are her losses. I would be looking for a new girlfriend.

We’ve been together 10 years (since our early 20’s)so it’s not like a new gf thing. I’m HODLING until mid 2021 regardless.

After ten years, she can no longer be called a girlfriend unless you are also married to another woman.

This year my wife is on track to earn almost double what I earn - and I do pretty good.  Sounds like y’all need some highly educated, strong independent women.  It’s a lot easier to get where you want to go if you have two of you working together as a team.

Wait, do we know this? Cause if no kids, then divorce is less lucrative.

Sure I read somewhere before if you get married & live in the South of France then due to their maritial laws then the guy gets everything in a divorce.

If true then getting married & living in Southern France is the one Grin

If she earns more than him, divorce could turn into a financial nightmare for her.
