The most interesting thing is that currently Bcash (ABC) has almost reached mining profit equilibrium with Bitcoin.

The way i see it they trust Calvin not going to attack BAB chain so they are moving their hash to the more profitable chain which is Bitcoin.

Question is, why don't BSV do the same?

Some major shit might happen soon considering both sides are back stabbing conmen.

Yes, they (ABC) have reduced hashrate to reach profitability equilibrium with BTC (which probably isn't profitable anyways at current price). With the checkpoints and the possibility of redirecting more hashrate in case of need I don't think they worry so much about an attack.

If BSV does the same (as it was logical) that would go against everything they have been saying about the long term commitment of their full hashrate, being determined to keep mining at a loss for a full decade, etc.... It's not that they are man's of word at all, and I am sure they will sooner than later do it.... but they are probably thinking about a good excuse that they can "sell".

BSV is not mining for profit but for security. So no, I doubt they would switch to BTC.

It is obvious they are not mining for profit but... security? what do you mean? No one is going to attack that shit even if they reduced their hashrate to the equilibrium point.

If Ver/WU wanted to attack it, they could do it right now with just a small part of their hashrate.

What bothers me is we are getting well ahead of schedule.   We shouldn't be into $3k before January.

We are doing it ahead of schedule because it had to be done before Bakkt and ETF are operational. Nobody on WS opens up a brand new venue during the shitstorm.

Notice how neatly GBTC started trading just as the bear was on the last legs in 2015 and just as it started, there was the last good pulldown before the train left the station for a 2015-2017 run up.

I hope you are correct

Hope is for church... Here i.r.l. we do facts...  Grin

and how are the current facts treating you?

Please all imagine those giant green candles that are ready to pop up when "institutionals" will get officially on board. Everything happens for a reason and I think this got well planned all along. The parabolic rise in 2017 was unreal as this 2018 drop.
Expect fireworks when Etfs and bakkt shit will take off.
That's how I see it.
Bitcoin is an asset for the institutionals. They can't control the instrument (they don't even get it) but sure as hell they can control the price.

Am I being dumb here?

Theoretically speaking : I wonder what kind of impact low hashrate would have on those large blocks of them (128 mb ?)

There should be no effect because of difficulty adjustment (except in the case majority of hash disappears long before diff adjustment)

Btw I dont think hashwar is the reason for the dump.

Also think we gonna bounce to at least 4 k from here.

Imagine you were one of those institutional guys (which already are unofficially in BTC). WOuld you trust your funds into an instrument that can tank because for example two morons decided to do a hard fork some time? Or that the price can tank just because a kiddo was playing with the security of some exchange and managed to hack it? just two of the numerous "childhood diseases" of btc.

if bitcoin falls because of the risk of attack 51, then why does the ETH fall too, it should grow on the contrary

Whoever posted the link with screaming sun couple of days ago thank you ! I didnt even know this series existed. downloaded first season and just now finished watching 6th episode - it fit very well with today's market carnage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evYxx8qjZFs

Cry fucking idiots still holding these worthless digital beanie babies.  IT will continue to crash, are you idiots just going to hold to zero?
I will not just hold. I will keep buying all the way down :p

off to bed soon; im giving it 60% chance that when i come in the morning, price will be back above 4k finex. if we continue down, ~3250 is my next buy area.

O.k?  Why we use finex as our BTC price reference point?

If it is not above $4k bitstamp, then why would it matter if it above $4k finex?

I guess being above $4k finex would assume being above $3,800 bitstamp or maybe $3850-ish?
coz i bought it there; yes that would be about 3800 stamp. but it didnt come back overnigt..
..so, what about some end-of-the-weekend pump? :p

Probably, but... Look at the order books.

I wouldn't know.  I don't look at them.

I do. And I know all the ways it can mean nothing but.... current proportion in bids vs asks is really big. Just saying.

It's a reverse indicator... so it cannot really mean that much to have a lot of buy orders and a thinned out ask-side.
