<snip> We are in war.  Fought in a way  historians may be able to see more clearly than those of us living through it.

War? With whom or what?
I don't read this as a war...more like an economic alignment.
Did we all think that 36 tril deficit is nothing?
It was going in the direction of a complete and utter collapse in a few years, according to Ray Dalio.
Now...who knows, maybe there is a small chance if budget deficits decrease.

I am being overly dramatic.

But THIS is called the prisoners dilemma.

What if it was John Nash.  Its playing out as he foretold.

The ESM guy is very likely referring to Trump's support of USD stablecoins, not to his Bitcoin support.

In that case, archive.ph is your friend.  Enter the URL and if it's already archived, it'll tell you and show you the link, if not, it will download and archive the content.  Not sure exactly how they do it but it defeats the paywall every.single.time. ymmv

The reality is we have yet to see how BTC reacts to a prolonged economic recession, which by the looks of most indicators, we are overdue for. When the Great Covid Crash happened in early 2020, we got a taste of what might happen, although the market effects were quickly offset by a flurry of money printing. That is the closest we have come thus far; otherwise BTC has only ever existed in bull market conditions.

im not sure trump's words are the culprit, the 1.5D checkers do show some bearish pressure, but what really stands out to me is the dollar's strength, it's been holding steady around 95, think this could be a major headwind for bitcoin's price, also just noticed some decent volume on the ask side at 45000, that could be a decent level of support, not saying its an infallible prediction but thats my 2 cents

In the name of all that is sacred, please stop posting, here or anywhere.

The way I see it: all OECD countries were on an unsustainable debt spiral.
US is trying to pull up and everyone is getting mad at it as they continue the course (further down).
I don't know if US still have time to "miss the ground", but i am pretty sure if they don't change, EU, Japan and China would smash their economies into the ground at some point.
However, austerity in combination with AI could cause large scale long term unemployment and, perhaps, we cannot escape that.

BTW, I visited local Chick-fila (chicken sandwich joint for those not in US) outlet today and noticed that prices just went up 15-20% all at once.
Feels kind of weird, but maybe it's the future.

That said, I have no idea how all of it would affect bitcoin: maybe down first, then up?
If trillion $$ companies can be halved in a couple of months (TSLA), then high volatility might become the norm for a while.

$150,000 - $200,000 will be next high range, nobody will talk about current dump.

Depression replaced with euphoria.

Indeed….
Some will profit a lot of them will be left behind …
Though for some to mindrust in latest day weeks could have turned in life changing money, but still the extreme life changing money will be missed

wow it's already beginning....

interesting times!

However, when Trump is out of office the next POTUS might sell the stack again. So I think it will take the EUDSSR at least(!) 4 years to follow... even China might be quicker... lol

Oh, yeah...liquidity.
My apologies if this was recently posted (maybe it was), but here is "something" about liquidity per Robin Williams (RIP):
