Explanation
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

that should stop some of the FUD....

that's old, but yeah i was thinking the top bitcoiners and now VCs etc have so much at stake, i'm sure they would rather pool together and bail gox out rather than let it implode and take a lot of their paper net worth with it.

Buy some XRP or DIE

Okay, where can I buy some DIE?  I know a certain developer/entrepreneur to whom I would like to provide a gift.

Damn Gox - made two BTC withdrawals to my wallet today.

Just checked:

First one did not arrive, second has 107 confirmations....

Both show in Gox history, only one arrived.

It was emptying my BTC out - no sign of half.  Ticket open of course, but just a warning to anyone (who didn't know already)

Be careful out there....?

I made two withdrawals too. Actually wanted one but hit confirm button twice and both went smoothly.

That sucks. virtex has shitty fees on trades, but really cheap and fast withdrawls. The only problem they go straight to your bank account, so it's not only dirty fiat, it's dirty traceable fiat.

I just came back from the best bitcoin exchange I've ever been in. It's just like local bitcoins, except it's a permanent store, you can just walk in and scan a code and they give you cash. 6.5% commission but better than those ATM's that do the palm scans...

All numbers were collected by hand from the site http://bitcoinwisdom.com, except the JPY volume for MtGOX that was obtained from http://bitcoincharts.com. Beware of possible errors.

For each exchange, the numbers include only the trade volume to/from the currencies listed in the rightmost column.  They do not include trade between BTC and other cryptocoins such as LiteCoin.

The Coinbase volume is not available, neither at Bitcoinwisdom nor at Bitcoincharts.

Dates on the header line are UTC. Specifically, "01/15" means "from 01/15 00:00:00 UTC to 01/15 23:59:59 UTC". (Beware that Bitcoinwisdom uses your local time, so the date may appear to be off by 1 day.  For example, if you are 2 hours west of Greenwich, it may show "01/14 22:00" when the UTC time is "01/15 00:00".)

Volume on Tue Jan/21 UTC was quite a bit lower than on Mon Jan/20 at most exchanges, especially on Huobi (41 kBTC against 72).  China's share srunk a bit but is still ~71%.

Today (Wed Jan/21) the volume at Huobi between 09:00 and 10:00 local time was quite a bit lower then usual, it looks like a Sunday.  Is that because of the Chinese New Year holidays?
