Bitcoin all over CNN right now. "But it's not backed by anything, it's not like it's backed by gold like the dollar (USD)" Ummmm since when has the dollar been backed by gold?

...[JorgeStolfi ] actually posts good stuff with good arguments... ...and that's his greatest fail. A shrewd educator doesn't reason with lab animals. Powerful electrical shock is the sole & uniquely effective approach to Bitcoiner education. This maxim was scientifically proven by Messrs Pavlov, NotLambchop, et al.

Wasn't it the early 70s? Before most of us were born?

Wasn't it the early 70s? Before most of us were born? The U.S. left the pseudo-gold standard known as "the Bretton Woods Accord" in 1971. The dollar was made non-redeemable in gold to U.S. citizens in the 1930s by President F.D. Roosevelt.

Haha yeah just saw that myself. You'd be surprised how many of the general US public are under that assumption.

Its CNN, the water carrier of big government. I take what they say there as a grain of salt.

Haha yeah just saw that myself. You'd be surprised how many of the general US public are under that assumption. 1/3 of the us population when surveyed thinks the sun rotates around the earth... that right there will show you how much the knowledge of the population in the US has declined.

CNN is promoting the Morgan Spurlock feature that airs tonight. The "Supersize Me" guy who tried to live on McDonald's food is attempting to live on bitcoin.
I think this is a good thing. There is no such thing as bad publicity. The worst crime is not being infamous. The worst crime is being irrelevant.

Shorts going up are bullish or bearish?
Bullish. Big money and people like me following them are waiting for ~25K shorts before we crank up the big pumps for a squeeze to $350.
