Where the trolls at?

Oh you know, making posts called "Sub $200 by Tomorrow" because they think for some reason it's profitable to buy BTC cheaply at an auction just to dump 50k of them in a relatively illiquid market. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=983500.0

Long term downtrend breakout on Kraken BTC/EUR 1m.  Smiley

Had to look this up. It's true. QE in the Eurozone might be a driver for rising bitcoin prices.
Small exchanges do random things all the time. There is no significance if they break an uptrend or downtrend before any of the real exchanges. Not to say they all wont. But who cares about Kraken?

It's not a random thing. The price is lower than on Bitstamp.

Certainly looks that way. Lots of nice bids piling up on BFX. Shorts closing though, so anything too spectacular is bound to collapse back down, at least temporarily.

It still doesn't matter what an exchange that small does. It wouldn't matter if someone dumped down to $10 on Kraken. They mean nothing.

To be honest, I hope we won't see a rally.

A slow and steady rise from here would be very bullish.

I hope this, too.

IMO a slow rising price provides the most pain to the market atm, as both, bears and bulls stay uncertain about the possible outcome.

It's the USD/Euro exchange rate that makes this happen now. Not that Kraken is a small exchange.

Oh, so you're saying it's because of the dollar. But what do you think that means in terms of bitcoin?

This. When the price moves too quick, shorts and longs fuel the rise/drop. So if this were to go to $300 you know the shorts will be around 13k or less. What happens then? More shorts open. Price falls again. If it goes up slowly, shorts will close and new ones will open, longs will open and others will close. Sustainable.

BitcoinWisdom needs to get rid of Cavirtex, it's an eye sore in the beautiful wall of green

Glad I got my coins out of there a week or 2 ago.

I don't see why anyone is selling at those prices, well below world market prices.

If anything, I'd be spending every last penny buying coins to withdraw.

If Cavirtex still allowed deposits this would be a great arbitrage opportunity.

Maybe some people are worried about being Goxxed and don't realize that Bitcoin withdrawals are proceeding just fine.

I'm saying it's happening on Kraken because of the weak euro. I don't think it says much about bitcoin. (But higher bitcoin prices in USD on the other exchanges is positive for bitcoin.)

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood.

So far so good for the rise. Bids arent being retracted to market order, instead theyre up nearly 1/4th on BFX since the rise started. Very nice! Only 2k of shorts closed, too, so that's good.

Huobi looks overbought though. Generally when they are so one-sided it's gonna end up moving the unexpected direction.

Slow and steady not possible. Either goes parabolic another ~50$ and crashes, or runs of of steam and crashes.

"32,000$ by mid 2017?"

The following shows something of the sort (well, by the end of 2017):
