Things are looking dim.

I'm considering selling off all my bitcoins if we go below $250...

1: bid sum is an excellent predictor of BTC prices. History shows that the two are very well correlated. If it's price that contributes to a rise in bid sum or the other way around is irrelevant.

What you wrote contradicts itself :
you said it is a predictor and then you say you don't know which one leads the other. Correlation is not prediction.
It predicts NOW, not the future.

I'm pretty sure yesterday was the last time we'll see sub $250 coins.  Tongue

Some of us have learned our lesson about not posting "the last time we'll see" anything when it comes to BTC!

I didn't think I'd really have to expand on that. If the bidsum is still hitting new lows, then the price will, too. If we suddenly saw a spike in bidsum, then you'd expect a price rise. Not really contradictory, it just can't predict a month from now, because bidsum can fly up and down.

No...

Yet it refuses to go any lower! I know you're probably extremely short right now, possible on margin, but I hope you've set your stops accordingly...

We're better off than we were two/three weeks ago. That looks like a win to me. I hope we don't dip below $230. Though I am secretly hoping buy some bitcoins at $200... and have it come back to $298.
