so let me get this straight, 700k went long on that spike to 269.5 on finex, and at about the same time 450k went short. I guess one could well have been in response to another. It looks like the long was a margin buy, did anyone see it?

There was a 5k wall placed at 250, minutes later it broke up into staggered walls, seconds later it looked like all 5k plowed into the asks.

someone borrowed another 1.3 mil, flashed it with a massive buy wall on 250, a lot of lemmings and whale kamikaze bought a lot of short positions.

that's it.

so it wasn't the spike to 269.5? or if it was, maybe a mis-click?  

the spike were the noobs buying and going all in on leverage.

Noobs dont buy 7k coins. Stopped the selloff eh? One more of them and we would have instaspiked to 300.

I bought at $263 earlier and was thinking of selling at 253 after seeing the train in flames, but then i took a pause. Returned and now $264...

You suck at trading. I did basically exactly that but then the other way around lol (buy 253, sell 265). XD

Don't worry he only bought 100$ worth of coin.

Yes, seems like this baby is inclining to go up, rather than down....... and I suppose that several of us are waiting to find out who is going to be correct (in the poll) regarding Monday's price?   Like today for example the price had about a $15 dollar fluctuation point.

I supposed Monday is a long day and maybe we could get similar levels of fluctuation in price, and the price of the poll refers to the close of business on monday?  which is what time?  5pm eastern?  or some other time and time zone?

It's nice to see a small price recovery to the 260's, hopefully we will make it back to the $280 range within the next week or so. We are still up 8% over the past 30 days.

Monkey thinks price will be downish until Monday-Wednesday turn starts a steady upward move, but 250 will hold the bottom.

I ask again, has your monkey got this bitcoin thing down yet?  I know he/she was a bit weak several months ago.

Definitely improving.  This year he wanted me to buy at 200 on 1/20, and at 215 on 2/10, then wanted me to sell at 292 on 3/11.
I wasn't paying attention at the time, though.  Right now, intraday, he thinks it goes up for an hour or two, then pulls back.  He
sees near-term resistance at 272 and support in the 242-253 range, pegs daily support at 236-245, and says it will turn up by
Tuesday.  (He's constantly adjusting, until he makes a buy or sell signal, then he stands pat and lets price decide if he was
right or wrong.)

On a weekly basis he says the buy point was 2/1, expects a few more weeks of up-trend, and again sees resistance at 378-380,
but allows that it may not turn, but only take a correction, to end the contiguous trend.

Leveraged longs up to 23 million dollars. But shorts up hugely today to 19000 contracts.

I agree with tzupy we could easily get another 5 or even 8 million USD long interest as happened in July 2014. So a squeeze may not materialise.

Today has shown bull whale can stop bear whale if needed. The price is at the mercy of big players. Whoever bought 7k btc earlier could easily have bought 14k. It makes you wonder about timing though. A far smaller buy when the price was 264 earlier today would have propelled us back to the 280/290's for less ammo. Perhaps mystery buyer was waiting for sellers to fire first!
