295 at the moment. Could we make 300 tonight or will whales manipulate the price to stay under 300?

if we will not go over 300 during weekend, we will get this point during start of upcoming week, no worries. Even whales don't have such power to manipulate major trends..

Maybe not whales but the composite operator does...and will manipulate accordingly!

i think my days of supporting bitcoin could very well be coming to an end. i have a tendency to turn when i feel wronged. a cashless society is not really a free society.

The bulls are starting to build momentum now. The first real test is approaching as we move towards $300.

Don't be greedy guys. Many many people are going to take profits between 300-315. You can always buy a new long later but the profits you take are safe.



Forex Market is going to be extreme volatile on Monday I guess. If Greece gets a deal we could see euro/usd pumped like crazy and maybe give BTC a reason for a dump to correct a bit.

Your thinking is broken.

If eur/usd pumps, it means that USD weakens, so it gives BTC vs USD a reason to go north/up/pump.

well it's simple markets reaction. It's not meaning USD will get weaken directly overall just the Euro will get some ground back because there is finally a solution for now. This would drive the attention away from bitcoin at least from the media.

On the other hand a Grexit would create a massive devaluation of the Euro. Banks are going to transfer their Euros for other currencies like USD or CHF... Maybe one or another Bank will kickstart and get into BTC as a very small part of their portfolio.. Even more media attention expected for Bitcoin in case of a Grexit.


On top, I don't see any reasons to not take profits at 300$...

People just draw lines at this point and be like "Very Bullish, going to 900 next week!" yea... People said the same at LTC and when most trader where long it dumped hard because there are not enough people with no position waiting to buy the dip.


"This time it's different" was also the main phrase everybody was using at the LTC pump. Don't forget. LTC was started and initiated every leg up we had for now. The last leg came from the ltc/btc dumps.


We will see what will happen between 300-315$
For now I am going to take profits on all the margin trades and go back to forex with the profits I had on btc so far.

PPl are insane...the 500$ mark will not be reached Monday! If anything the irrational target prices makes me want to sell into a rally. Bollinger bands don't lie and we can't go up forever...400-500 within a couple months but it must be in an orderly fashion!

I am assuming that once we pass the $300 mark things really start getting fun.  

I am a little frustrated today though.  My husband told me that his aunt, which decided to purchase a few coins at $650 a while ago, called yesterday and wanted to bail out and told him to sell them all (he was holding them for her because she seemed to have difficulty with computer security).  Really?  Right when the rally is just getting started?  Sigh.  Now is the time to buy or at least HODL!

That is the definition of a weak hand.

I don't feel sorry for those weak hands. If you can't keep your BTC safe, sell with loss. People who realise this opportunity will gladly buy them coins and make huge profits on short term.

When it is family it is hard not to feel sorry for "weak hands".  We will probably just pay her the difference later when the price increases, but that means that we are losing a couple grand just because she got scared and bailed.    I would have just sent her cash and kept the coins but we are not that liquid right now.  Most of our extra cash is tied up.  

That would be the worst thing you could do (ok, maybe not worst, that would be just telling your aunt the bitcoins were lost in a tragic boating accident and giving her nothing.)

You may think you are being "charitable" but you are doing her and yourself a disservice. Losing money is how the market teaches lessons. If you bail her out she learns nothing, and you punish yourself for being right. It may be some kind of ridiculous, err, religious self suffering sacrifice thing, but don't kid yourself, you're not doing anyone any favors here.

(Actually, upon reflection, I think I was right the first time; bailing out your aunt *is* the worst thing. At least if you were to keep the bitcoin and give her nothing she would learn a very valuable lesson about third party risk and you would be richer for teaching that lesson.)

Maybe you are right.  We haven't promised her anything yet.  I just feel bad about the timing of it all.  But patience is a virtue.  I wish she could have just been a little more patient.  My husband felt bad because when it took a dip the first time around she wanted to bail then and he encouraged her not to worry about it and just ride it out.  She said that the next time she wanted to sell he wasn't supposed to argue with her so he didn't this time.  I feel like she waited this long, what is another week or two?  She is going to feel really stupid in a couple months. I don't want her upset with us.  There is a reason some people have a hard time with investments though.

In theory, she's a grown woman and should take responsibility for her own choices. However, family is tricky. I haven't advised my friends or family to buy Bitcoin. I've told them about it, but never encouraged them to buy any as an investment. Cause I know it would poison our relationship if the price moves against them. However, things are looking good for BTC atm so if you could take the risk upon yourself and delay the sale a bit, it might not be so expensive to bail her out.

I think the lesson is - don't pull your nearest and dearest into your own investment fever. Regardless of what happens everything will always be your fault.

She loses her coins - your fault. She sells at a loss - your fault. You bail her out and the price explodes - your fault. It's an infinite hiding to nothing.

Wake up man! First you need to understand how the composite operator thinks and trades and you trade accordingly...now get your head out of the sand!
