The Shift Card is a VISA debit card that currently allows Coinbase users in twenty-four states in the U.S. to spend bitcoin online and offline at over 38 million merchants worldwide. Wow. Otherwise it won't affect the usage And the coins will be easier to spend, so more sell pressure

Looks like something's happening amongst the Knights of The Round Table. I really don't understand all this. Just give a working BTC I don't care about all the disputes. Is that so difficult? You see when the human part comes into place, everything goes nuts I agree, there is more talk about personality and agendas than actual discussion of development. The former can more easily be skewed. Math actually contains real answers.
That's exactly what I meant: I don't care about those discussions so long as they do not involve active development. I got interested in bitcoin because of what you say here Math actually contains real answers.

Seems like a very short-term view to me.

Bro, do you even hodl? Just buy bitcoins, put them in a paper wallet, and watch them grow! Never spend them, because you won't be as rich -- use worthless fiat to buy things bitcoins.

that basically just means they are paying the fees for their customers. thats all. pay the fees by yourself in case of a stress situation in the network and you will have the identical outcome. no big deal.

the First Halvening was epic partytime.
Well, it wasn't. It happened on 2012-11-28, and the price didn't budge for 5 weeks. Then a rally started, that peaked on Apr/2013... pulled by BTC-China, which had just ben taken over by Bobby Lee, and explained as the "discovery" of bitcoin by the Chinese amateur commodity speculators. Correlation does not imply causation. Lack of correlation is strong evidence of lack of causation...
