Two bad things for Bitcoin in the past few days that may have caused this are the auction in Australia (that ends in a few hours) and the Brexit vote is polling heavily toward the Remain folks after their MP was shot.

Could be why the West is leading the bear market, they consider those things as big factors. While Chinese just want to get their money out of Yuan.

Potential turn arounds, the Australian auction results come out with a high price paid. And Brexit wins Friday morning.

Speaking of which, how do I do a long on Bitfinex? Do I have to have USD on the exchange? I currently have some BTC on there (I just logged in after a few years and saw I had .8 BTC still on there).

Currently, you can't do shit on Finex, they are having issues (nice timing  Undecided ).  When they come up again, you can do leverage long with BTC as collateral (just remember that the value of your collateral goes down together with your leverage position in this case).

hoping / looking like this fucking retarded dump is over for now having done 50 lower in the last like 2 hours and 100 down in the last like day

yet again the market gets fucked by what always happens with bitcoin - going along great market totally bullish good things happening and looking like further gains coming , and then whammo the inevitable "unexpected untimely and unpredictable" bullshit [...]

What makes it doubly painful is that the unexpected bull runs happen because bitcoin is so grossly undervalued disruptive technology, while unexpected dumps [which happen each and every time, like clockwork] are always apropos of nothing and/or Saurian lizards.

Finex making its 3rd attempt  Tongue

Quote
We believe that internal networking issues between our servers have been resolved, allowing us to reliably run the backend systems, including the trading engine. External connectivity issues remain, however, which may result intermittent unresponsiveness as our hosting provider continues to work on the problem. We will bring the system back up once again to allow people to cancel open orders for a period of 15 minutes before accepting new orders for matching.

dont forget the DAO-mess, thats very bad for the overall sentiment as everyone gets reminded about the risks that crypto inherits. it shutters basic confidence if you will.

-Bitcoin appears to have hit a ceiling at the $775 mark, making a break below a short-term consolidation pattern and moving towards the nearby support.
-Price is now trading below the $700 mark and could head further south until $650, which is close to the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level and a former resistance.
-A bounce off this correction area could allow bitcoin price to resume its climb to the recent highs and beyond.

Third time's the charm.
Let's hope the "hosting provider" fixes those "external connectivity issues" (which may plague us for an indefinite while longer, though through no fault of BFX).

will we go to 600s again?  Cry
Seriously what is this cluster fud?

Why The F*** is west dumping so hard  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

nonsense

It is maybe because those finex bastards?

Dude... don't worry! The West does not matter anymore! ... China is leading the trend.  Everyone from the West just waits for moves in China exchanges (especially Huobi) and they just copy+paste what they are doing.

And China seems to want to buy more cheap coins, and they are trying to see how low it can go so they can start pumping back. They want to flush out all the traitors that will sell.

And everyone that will want to buyback in the game they will have to buyback inside at a higher price. Because usually China makes huge moves when everyone sleeps in China! From my analysis they do the hugest pumps when it is 4-5 AM in China time.

I just checked bitcoinwisdom and bifinex is still at $713 when btc-e and bitstamp are both down in the mid/low $600 mark, was there a big dump of coins in the last half hour?
