SEC could kick the can down the road a few times with a set amount of days. Those periods are used to get extra input from the public a.k.a. trollposts from our academic interest guy. I think the last (3rd?) extension is coming to an end, which means the SEC is forced to make a decision.

Get ready haha! Pump everything in bitcoin.
Pumping everything in bitcoin? Checking out current the price of bitcoin, bitcoin is down some how.Whats going on mate cos it seems like you know something good will happen pretty soon, isn't it?

"Checking out current the price of bitcoin, bitcoin is down some how"

Are you trolling, Hulla?  Or have you been sleeping under a rock?   Explain exactly how bitcoin prices could be down when it is currently largely floating in the $750s?

It would be pretty easy to point out our current BTC price situation that would assist many folks to conclude that bitcoin is NOT currently "down", but maybe it would be better to let you go first?  go ahead.  I am waiting.  how do you come to any kind of meaningful conclusion that BTC is currently "down"?

Ok mate, I knew the current price of bitcoin is far better than second quater of this year and if I said tthe price is down I meant the price of bitcoin as at Friday/Saturday was 765$. Roger that?

O.k... That clarification of what you meant by "down" is fair enough.

Likely, I am reacting with a bit more assertiveness than necessary because it seems a bit problematic to look at such short term price changes without putting those assessments into context.

Sure, it is possible that we could experience some never returning explosive uptrend in prices, but it seems to be quite more likely that we are going to experience several consolidation periods and even small retractions ... yet overall, we seem to be continuing to experience a considerable amount of ongoing upwards price pressures.. and our corrections since lower $600s have been largely insubstantial with continued upwards price pressures.

I surely don't have any kind of crystal ball, but it seems to be within reasonable possibilities that we could get another explosive upward leg into the mid - $800s... but also, we could experience a significant downward correction too... just to weed out some of the weak hands....  Currently, I would place the odds of another upwards 5% leg as slightly better than 50% as compared with a 10% downward leg.

,

Ok and that's still fair enough cos every successful business must accept debt. Though, the debt must not be much. However, savetherainforest said is time for new predictions. Does that mean we should be accepting something more bigger before the end of this year?

This will be finalized in january after presidential transition. Who is in charge of their decisions? Trump administration. Trump is very supportive of bitcoin, his attitude towards financial segment of economics indicates he will prod fellows from SEC to make the right decision on this front. Even though someone in the department chair thinks winkies plot diabolic plans for their ETF, for me its 100% legit.

wut? Trump has never said a thing about bitcoin and if he could be bothered to think about it what's gonna stand out is China and its anti protectionism.

he'll have a little more on his plate than calling up the sec and haranguing them about something he knows nothing about that no one else has ever heard of.

let's hope he never does pay it any attention.

The Bitcoin ETF will come, have more patience. Do not disrespect them with calling the two brothers ''Winterfloss''....they invested already a lot of money in Bitcoin. Are you able to pull millions from youre own wallet to create and maintenance an exchange, pay for engineers, regulators and lawyers? Do you even realize how much it cost to fill in a ETF  Huh

Anyway, they have a logo for there upcomming ETF;

I've never heard or read anything about that!
I only know that Republican Rant Paul accepted Bitcoin as donation for his election campaign.
But that's pretty much it.

Peter Thiel is a walking brain technologist that, Trump reckons, will think on his behalf. Trump has many aces up his sleeves including paid sophisticated nerds ready to work in govt funded research labs and do fact finding for him. Its not that big of a deal to hire and have big brains employed to study and analyze beautiful fintech garden 24/7. Regardless, I think Trump is educated enough to gather knowledge about bitcoin and how it can be helpful for his campaign. Trump can push on fucking sec and have it accept etf faster than it takes 50 rabbits to mate in a single kitten bedroom.

Where did I say that? What the heck? I said his administration. He appoints bitcoiners to his cabinet. There are other shilling multimillionaires in cahoots with him who will be serving his needs. Search on the web for Thiel. As I said there are other people from bitcoinland as well working for Trump.

I think this is a damn shame however you look at it. I've used it a couple of times and it was ultra smooth. no id required either. I can't say I'm surprised. I wonder how patient some of these vc investors are. they're certainly not looking unicorn ish any time soon.

Well the BTC-core developers aren't really hard at work creating a payment network for the masses. Nor are the problems about governance being adressed. Bitcoin will be something else imo, the gold standard for other, more useful crypto's. And a decent store of value.

I have adjusted my hopes about the future value of BTC accordingly. Not dreaming of a personal island or a yacht anymore ;+)

Edit: has anyone tried Venmo yet? Sounds useful!

Edit: and how about https://transferwise.com/? Seems a great solution for remittances!

gold 2.0 would probably  entail a way higher valuation than Internet cash but I can't see it happening while any type of doubt remains about capacity and political wrangling.

if it had arrived set in stone ready for that role it would just be a case of sitting back and waiting for more people to learn about it, but that's not the case.

as satoshi himself said it's either heading for triumph or oblivion within a few years.

the falling block reward is a time bomb in that aspect.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Up a smidgen since this time yesterday... $772USD/$1023CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

No big deal but a slight upward creep is better than a downward grind.

yes. or it could be $2 or $200,000. most experts were predicting $4000 plus for 2014. that didn't quite happen.

I see all this last minute negative news as bullish AF for Bitcoin. The media has said next to nothing about bitcoin's entire rise this year (up almost 100%, handily beating almost all mainstream equities), but has to pounce on and poop out a few negative articles here at the end of 2016.

So what does that tell you about next year?  Remember, they need Average Joe to first hesitate, then finally come in late in the game and end up the final bagholder.
