It could be a combination of factors. Bitfinex is lower than stamp and seems to be leading the dip. Someone's dumping coins on finex.

It could be a combination of factors. Bitfinex is lower than stamp and seems to be leading the dip. Someone's dumping coins on finex. Wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of hot money dumping btc to run and start accumulating that IOTA crap, whatever the hell that is. They'll accumulate at 0.50c for a while, then start pumping it. Altlandia: what a complete farce of a shitshow market that is.

I don't know how accurate this story is, but if China's Sichuan Province really is banning Bitcoin mining maybe that's another factor in the dip. It's a new twist, China "bans" Bitcoin mining instead of China "bans" Bitcoin. https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-mines-in-chinese-province-sichuan-allegedly-forced-to-shut-down/Reports have emerged detailing the alleged forceful cessation of large-scale bitcoin mines in China’s southwest, with insiders quoting a lack of state-sanctioned regulatory policy regarding cryptocurrency mining as the official reasoning cited for such.

Tada! 100 Points to you. The UASF outlook is scary for the markets, as is an eventual #Flippening with ETH. That combined with a very long run with lots of hype and the usual "My friends, family, coworkers asking about BTC" and you have more than enough reason for a strong correction down to 1500$.

that's good news isn't it? chinese influence on bitcoin has been almost nothing but total poison, from the exchanges to the centralization of mining. the sooner they're gone the better.

Can someone please explain the difference, and the backstory?
a few months ago it looked like bitcoin unlimited, which is now being mined as emergent consensus in block signalling, looked like it had ever rising hash rate and people thought bitcoin might fork. bitfinex introduced a futures market to trade tokens between the two ideas to see what demand would be like. it didn't go very well for unlimited and their fork proposal faded away as most players rejected the idea. now the same people are back with another one.

Maybe, but I heard the China "bans" Bitcoin story too often to believe it any more. Likewise, I'm very sceptical about the China "bans" Bitcoin mining story.
