Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion

I'm about 92% bitcoin and 8% hedge (give or take 1% because sometimes it becomes a bit difficult to recalculate with the price moving around so much and also real life issues also "getting in the way"), and fuck at these 65%+ gains in two weeks on top of previous gains in recent times, even 8%, adds up to a lot of fiat sitting on the sidelines.  but that is o.k... I don't really feel an urge to cash out more or to buy for that matter - however, if the price were to shoot up to $9k within about a few weeks, I might consider taking some drastic selling measures (emphasizing "might")      

I like your method of selling small amounts at set price intervals. And paying very little attention to that voice that inevitably will say: damn, I shoulda bought more here, sold some there. We all know it's going up long term but short term predictions just cannot be relied upon.

My only deviation would be if it is clearly going parabolic, then maybe sell a little more than planned. Especially if masterluc is calling the top. But even then, I wouldn't deviate much from the plan. Even the master can be wrong.

The sell wall on Gemini at $4125 started at about 1k btc about 20 minutes ago, and it looks like it is getting eaten away slowly.  I feel like making a buy, just to contribute to the cause.  It is down to 448 BTC as I type, but even if I made a BIG purchase (for me), it would not make a big dent in the wall.


Edit:  Hahahahaha.. Finally I may have done a good thing for everyone, including myself.  I watched the wall, and it suddenly went down from 433BTC and down to 18BTC, and I made my pounce, especially since on my other screen, I could see that Stamp had about $100 premium with new ATH movement. My small contribution at the bargain price of $4125.  Now, I gotta figure out when to sell because that was outside of my regular practices?  Maybe sell little by little starting around $4250?  or is that too conservative?

Seems like it could be the same whale on Gemini at $4325, who posted a large sum of coins for sale at $4125.. I might have come to the situation too late, but as I type there are currently a reduction from 247 coins for sale down to 147.. Maybe the whale is running out of coins?  Maybe not?  who knows? 

Even though I made money out of the last one, I am a bit hesitant to contribute to the cause, again on this one - although if there is a stacking up of coins at that $4325 price point, and other exchanges are going into the $4390 arena, I may make another strategic purchase.. possibly... just to play my small part in this historical (or should I say hysterical?) cause.

Back to serious... yep.. I am having some similar dilemmas... not with the mining part but just ongoing questioning of some issues with fast price appreciation.. partly a problem of having what you wish for coming true.

 She said to put 1% of your portfolio into Bitcoin (or I should say Crypto) so if everyone in the world (not saying they have that large of a following but...) puts 1% into Crypto-currencies, how much would that be?

1) They are not scoffing/laughing at bitcoin anymore! (actually now saying "Bitcoin is here to stay")

2) They are recommending normies to invest in it (albeit only 1%)

Except for that idiot dinosaur Dennis Gartman. Not only does he not understand crypto, he's a straight up central banker ass kisser. I believe he's even done consulting work for the Federal Reserve Bank.

Yup, the change is quite obvious. Also, the price is very indicative of that change. And this time it is not a single exchange that goes full retard for a couple months (mt gox). There are tens of exchanges, way lot more infrastructure, etc etc.... So the price is as real as it can be in a high risk investment.

According to pionline, Americans have $25 Trillion in retirement assets.  Considering only this and giving Bitcoin only 50% of the 1% of the crypto-currency investment, each one will be worth $7575 and that doesn't include assets from the rest of the world

I agree to some degree that Average Joe should invest something now.

But only 1%? Let's say that someone has a $200,000 portfolio, then that's only $2000. That's a flyer. Sure they risk almost nothing, but really stand to gain nothing either unless they hold it for 30 years.

And then they want Average Joe to stay in and risk the other 99% of their portfolio in this ginormously overblown stock market bubble? All $198,000?

You can see the mind fuck they do right in plain sight.

If I had invested 1% of my FIAT in the bank at the moment I bought my first Bitcoin (at 50€) I would be "rich" by now. Unfortunately it was only 100€ (via paypal) what I spent because I couldn't find anyone in localbitcoins to sell me 3000€ (50+ BTC) in cash IN PERSON.

Oh well, so many things I could have done differently. Luck is a major part of everything in life. And we can consider lucky in this Bitcoin thing, even if some more than others. Such is life.
