So here is a wild ass theory.  We have in the past seen a lot of really odd resistances at what I will dub "meme numbers, $666 probably being the best example, but lesser price magnets seemed to form around some of the $*666 and $1337 levels.

I wonder, bitcoiners being largely computer nerds, if we might see similar magnets around $8086/$8088?  It seems to have already provided some resistance.

If there is anything to this, $9000 is going to be one tough nut to crack.

Maybe supply & demand will play a role. Or maybe people will just like to dump on pretty numbers (like 11.111$ or 12.345$) ... or weird predictive charts with conservative safe numbers.

1. The book on finex shrank rather than grew.
2. The volume has remained the same rather than grown.
3. It looks just like right before the dip from 3000.

this issue has been ongoing now for over 2 months

For what it's worth...  I just did a deposit of 3BTC, a trade, and a withdrawal at Bittrex.  No bumps.  Worked perfectly.  Took a total of 20 minutes.

I bought some AEON today for $2.45.  Maybe if I hang onto that for 10 years it will also be worth $8k.  It’s a Monero fork, equivalent to Litecoin.

yep and bfx is 70 dollars above bitstamp with 43% more longs than shorts.

Borrowing leveraged money to buy what you can't afford always ends well.
