You know, the above LN discussion is why pretty much why every time a bankster coin like XRP pass BCH in marketcap, BCH will be pumped to heck to surpass it.  Because that bankster coin also offer unlimited tx capacity with even lower fee, and guess what, it even ironically resembles how LN might look like in operation, if LN ever becomes operational.  If some layer 2 LN coin can be worth more than BCH, then guess what the base layer coin would be worth?

It is the equivalent of increasing the diameter of single disk hard drives instead of increasing the density (segwit) and adding multiple platters and heads (additional layers, LN) as an scalable solution.

You know very well what the industry chose.... otherwise we would have ended with hard drives that couldn't even fit in a desk.

What has very limited scarcity is the ability to copy digital IP and by getting highly educated users to rent it in a way they cannot copy it works great as a way to keep charging fees for artificially scarce copying ability. The same is true for Netflix and others.

Everything is asymptotic. The closest to money and wealth commoners ever experience is the shadow on the wall of the cave projected by the owners. Whether it is in the form of taxed land, state currencies, company stocks or a heavily regulated productive business, they are all allowed to exist by the grace of the owners.
