Wow, Either Bitcoiners have really learned not to panic or the news hasn't spread.
The Selfish Mining attack:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325824.msg3494144#msg3494144
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=324413.msg3475905#msg3475905
http://arxiv.org/abs/1311.0243
Something like this, though clearly mentioned "theoretical attack", would have triggered a panic sell @ $260.
One of the publications seems half-cooked almost set to exploit the panic, nothing yet.

This is old news.

thats all theoretical BS tho.

Bitcoin will do gr8, and the fact that smart poeple are now really taking a hard look at bitcoin, the tech will improve and its only going to go up, so naturally price doesn't give about this news.

On Tradingview it looks like the Whale could be attempting to create a new triangle. I've noticed this many times before over the years. Larger players seemingly attempting to create triangles. We will see if it turns into one.

Attempting this on Mtgox with in the past may have worked. I do not expect such a tactic to work with today's trading options.

Edit: In order to effect trading momentum and confidence they would need to have control of the majority of volume over several exchanges.

Yeah, it could just be the same person or group who did it back then trying up to the same tricks. When people and bots see those triangles then react. But it might be harder for them with the other exchanges being more influential now. Mtgox still has sway though.
