How do the miners get the coins onto Gox in the first place if they can't be spent??
They are part of the coinbase transaction.

Sorry I'm not following, how did CoinBase get into this?
Not that Coinbase.

Not CoinBase the company, or whatever it is..

He means miners are using their Gox deposit address to receive mining rewards as part of the generation TX in a new block. (25 new coins in existence)

While coins sent which existed before require 6 confirmations, newly minted coins sent in this fashion require 120 confirms before they are spendable.

It seems official...  cat's officially out of the bag.  No more super cheap coins (under ~$100), unless we go to zero.

what's wrong with China? Why they don't buy at 1900? Is it a cursed number or something?

Not FUDDING, but the reports of btc withdrawal probs at Gox just keeps on growing: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=85.0

Never underestimate Gox's incompetence. It can derail any rally.

Don't worry we should be receiving official information soon:

I expect the eventual public explanation they offer on their web site to live up to their typical standards of helpfulness and timeliness, as they so often do.

They will probably delay btc withdrawals until full implementation of the Midas engine. Then they will provide official statements every other month explaining why implementation must be pushed back.
