You should never buy a $20k boat which is 20 years old though. That's a death trap.
Ahem. I did that, except it was 40 years old. It is also extremely seaworthy.

The future's bright.

The future's bitcoin.

Any analysis regarding whether bitcoin is gonna do a long bear market for 1-2 years, or is going to go sideways and/or upwards from here?

Is that question really worth asking?
I mean it seams to me that no one has any idea what is going to happen. I am sure a lot of folk here would claim that they do know what is going on but I don't think I have seen any chart that has followed what BTC actually ended up doing.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Missed a few days but I see that the battle for $9k rages on... currently $8960USD/$11560CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Seems we'll have to hit 5 digits before we can consider $9k a done deal.
_____

Heading back down to Mexico on Saturday to buy some more land. I hope I don't take the Bitcoin price south with me.

I seem to recall reading about some brand new $300k+ Beneteau where the keel just fell off, instantly sinking the boat and killing the guy.

The chances for that to happen again is the same as getting struck by a lightning on a sunny day.

Many people died because of faulty Tesla cars too. Do we say Tesla's are death traps?

You should never buy a $20k boat which is 20 years old though. That's a death trap.

Oh no! why did I unignore roach. daym.

Btw people are not shifting to catamarans. You are pulling from ass again. Monohulls are always the king shit.

We should make a yacht thread. I bet there would be plenty enough people on this forum interested in that.

I love the use of space on the new Najad 395. Enough room for the whole family on a <40 footer. And that Scandinavian quality. Be still my heart. No pictures of the 395 out on the water that I can find since it's so new, so ill just include a random picture of a 450.

A 15 meter boat is Too Damn Big. If you can't handle it on your own, in a stiff breeze, don't even bother. If a 30 footer is too small for your crew, then better to get two boats instead.

See that's what I'm talking about. That sounds like a yes vote for a new thread! It seems like there are a surprising number of people here who are interested in yachts/boats.

I think a new Yacht/Boat thread should have a spiritual link to it's fork from the WO thread.

Could we call the new thread "Wall Observer BTC/Yachts - Bitcoin price/wave movement tracking & discussion"

Due to the past historic market data of bitcoin when the market blood occur like how it happened for a couple of weeks it usually reach another ATH for a year and half once the market totally recover before going up and down. But with the halving which will happen in the year 2020. I believe the price will bullish for the next 1-2 years.

Damn, you guys are into boring boats.  I've always liked the Corsair C37 for some reason.  It's a fast trimaran with a stand up shower and decent interior.  Supposedly unsinkable:

http://corsairmarine.com/trimarans/c37-cr/#overview-view

Then stuff like Wharrams are always interesting:

But most people would probably prefer a standard $150k used 40' Catamaran for a liveaboard.

That doesn't look like something I could afford. I spend my time looking at boats I can afford Grin That's for like racing or something right? I have a family to lug around too.

The cat maybe more practical for me. Ill take a look at all of them though. The Corsair C37 is pretty crazy looking.

*edit* Oh the Lucia is just the 40 foot Fountaine Pajot. Yea I've looked at that one. As with seemingly all the cats the interior looks so chincy. Like its built out of ikea furniture.

It will not be a long Bear market for 1-2 more years. Could we have another "bearish" month or two...yes. Imho, either Bitcoin grows to become a global asset class or something else will replace it that can. By growth I mean reaching and sustaining a value where institutional and sovereign entities have enough self-interest to support it. Once a layer for truly anonymous transactions is developed, tested and deployed for bitcoin, it will go ballistic. I hate to say it as it is so cliche but we are at a critical junction. The balancing act of growing fast enough to retain current users and promote new adoption and not growing so fast as to be perceived as a threat to said entities is a tight-rope walking act of incredible complexity.

My best guess is it will fall somewhere between the orange and yellow lines I have illustrated. Stepping back and looking at longer times frames indicates we are right on the edge of a substantial growth period. My recent frustration with short term price action has made me realize that I am emotionally over invested. Time for a break and to do some sailing. dyor and ymmv. Peace.

The cat is interesting tho. Ill check it out.

A used 40' catamaran for $120-150k is the best option there.  I'm partial to 40' cats (lagoon 40 in picture) because they have nice back porches you can sit on with a laptop or something, or cook on/drink.  The back porch is kind of essential because no matter how hot it is, you can always sit out there and it won't be too bad, as opposed to being locked inside of a monohull below feeling like you're trapped inside of a ninja turtles lunch box left out in the sun.

There are definitely strong arguments to be made for cats. No doubt. Also if you ever take anyone out who has sea sickness they will be so much happier. And all your stuff wont be sloshing around below deck. And you can actually cook without hurting yourself. And they typically move a bit quicker since they have a shallower draft. My only problem is by the time they actually get up to decent quality and out of that "ikea furniture" range they are devastatingly expensive.

But you know I'm just gathering all of this from the best piecemeal research I can accomplish on the internet. I have never had the chance to get out there and look at these things in person. Hoping to be able to do that soon.

Maybe it's just the sort of talk that we need in order to help get out of this bear rut?
