The same reason why USA has Trump as the president. Interesting times. ***Trump is still 100 times better than Shillary*** Trump is hilarious. Poor Kimmy must be so confused. Here is this crazy american, threatening nuclear war over twitter. And what does that result in? Peace between the north and south. It's like something out of a comedy.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Just wanted to point out the break through into cloud cover on the hourly. Short term might be looking at another small dip...but more sideways than not. #dyor Always good opinions at CT imho. https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-backed-fiat-currencies-sci-fi-or-missing-link-expert-takeCryptocurrencies are still very volatile despite having increased significantly in value over the past 12 months. They are volatile because they are still in their infancy and investors are constantly trying to figure out what are the odds of them being successful. Assuming Bitcoin’s comparables are gold and the US Dollar, the probability of success of Bitcoin is currently priced between one and two percent (Bitcoin market capitalization divided by the value of all the gold ever mined or divided by the US Dollar M2 money supply).
Assuming Bitcoin has a one percent chance of being successful at becoming a global currency or a global store of value, it would not be absurd to consider investing one percent of a given central bank’s foreign exchange reserves like it was proposed by a prominent banker in Ghana a few months ago.
It is unlikely that cryptocurrencies will entirely replace fiat currencies - just like email did not entirely replace regular mail - but the two forms of currencies will have to learn to co-exist and live together. The cryptocurrency genie is out of the bottle and there is no way to put it back in. Central banks investing in cryptocurrencies could be a first step to build a bridge between the two worlds. I put the odds significantly higher than 1%. Some interesting data on exchange revenue.

I dunno. It's plausible. He's been verifiably been otherwise acting erratically over the last week. He is arguing with Warren Buffet on a moat filled with candy. http://fortune.com/2018/05/05/warren-buffett-elon-musk-trolling-sees-candies-moats/It does sound like he wants to build a Willy Wonka type theme park. Billionaire has too much money to know what to do with it. Micheal Jackson syndrome? Take that money and put it into crypto. Built a Crypto virtual theme park! Like benders?

Interesting data indeed. Interesting fine print, too: "* Daily revenue estimated with CoinMarketCap reported 24 hour volume and fees listed on exchanges' websites" I wonder how they determined how much of each exchange's daily volume to associate with that exchange's fee schedule tier?

I never understood why there is resistance? I dont get it, can somebody explain? 10k will break. Why are people building walls to hold it sub 10k as long as possible?
I never understood this too why people are selling during a bull run. But the thing is 1) There are people who set a goal. "I bought at XX and will sell everything when it reaches 10.000" 2) Their are traders who sell and hope to crash the price by a few % and then buy back so they ultimately have more BTC 3) Wales make up sell walls (the 200 / 300 / 400 BTC walls you see) to keep the price below a certain level so they can buy all their BTC below a certain price. Once they are done they mostly lift their sell wall. There are probably more reasons :-) Whales hold Bitcoin down while they amass much profit in ALTS. agreed Double exactly!!

Talking about death... one of my Ledger wallets have died. It has a burn mark near the LCD (deforming the plastic case) as if it had internally shortcircuited or something....
Anyone knows if there is some warranty replacement or something?
Has it happened to anyone else?

You know, that login captcha really tests me sometimes. I often start to wonder, "Well could I be a robot and not know it?" Wouldn't be surprised if we sideways between $8-9k all summer. I've been wondering why someone has been buying truckloads of ETH at gemini's auction for weeks now. This could be the answer, a HUGE ETH short position coming. Especially if the SEC rules that ETH is in fact a security. Also Andrew Left is a tool. I also have a hard time solving captchas sometimes. It is reaching ridiculous levels. Soon it will be above human "processing" ability and only a new generation of very specialized bots will be able to solve them. Ironic, isn't it? I think it is too soon to figure out what price range we would be at summer. OTOH, this struggling below $10K is exactly how we all supposed it would be when reaching this levels for the first time instead of the cut-through-$10K-as-if-it-were-butter we experienced in december. We always thought $10K would be a MAJOR resistance/psycological price point, didn't we? What are those Gemini auctions? OTC? How do you get those figures? I wonder if ETH would be considered a security... would that apply to ETC too or it would make for some kind of flippening between the two? I mean, would it be a security because it was initially ICO'ed -then ETC also was- or would it be because of all the ICO's that have been launched from ETH?So it does look like I am not the only one who thought about it. What other reason there would be for ETC rising alone now?

Join us in the next episode of Sesame Street where young goyim TERA learns the miracle of spoofing to harness the power of the fact humans have a finite lifespan, so there really is a sucker born every minute.
Spoofing and such is over-diagnosed here. What is a goyim? Don't feed the trolls.
