Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I am not re-buying. still in the trap zone.

Even 900 could be the "trap" zone and form a double top.

So you will wait 950 to go back in and miss on an extra 250 USD ?

The time back in was 100 dollars ago, and now Smiley

no.

if we go past 722 I will rebuy.

getting ready I guess ? Smiley

allot of talk of holding, but if the price gets into 4 figures, my uber-careful coward trading (decimals per week when not crazy volatile like now) would be enough to start shifting my basic life costs to bitcoin where available. I get the feeling that the number of us in a similar situation is fast reaching critical mass.

I believe that none of the exchanges surpasses yesterday's high values ($1000/$750/$640) set about 24 hours ago, today or during the remainder of the year, (except Bitstamp at max).

I believe that none of the exchanges surpasses the current values ($700/$630/$600) during the rest of the week, (except for the following hours).

I give 75% probability to the scenario.

Otherwise the common wisdom does not hold, and 2010 is back.

Excellent TA. Only we are talking about bitcoin here... I foresee about $700 mark on mtgox until the end of the day. If not; I'm totally with you and your predictions.

Damn... I missed the prediction by 1 day Tongue

Shorting = borrowing coins to sell them, in the hopes that the price per coin will be lower when you have to give them back. A "short sell" is to sell an asset (BTC) you don't own, you just have borrowed it to sell it because you anticipate the price to go down.

That's extremely dangerous with BTC, because the price has the potential to double multiple times very quickly, and thus you can face huge losses by shorting.

That's what "shorting" means, but in these forums many people say they are "short" when they have sold coins, which is not correct. What can you expect in a forum where most of people thinks that ROI is a synonym for break-even....

I am shorting my ROI on my coins that I break-even double multiple times...

again I've got 22 BTC  a few days past a month so far mining as a NOOB....how many of you guys are gonna crack like an egg when/if BTC hits 1000 usd ..... ack....and from what I've seen on here if everyone runs to sell at the same time ..you seem to lock up the works anyway with no one selling....a nice little delusional loop

I've only got 22 coins ..it hits 1000 usd and I actually have the $$$ to plan and implement my foolish mid life crisis correctly (sports cars co-eds and bimbos)..(must resist)

anyway you with over 100 coins (big brass ones) I  will watch ponder and learn and www.mtgox.com is at $721 and going up as I type ....all aboard the 'roller coaster" exit stage left

sheez....only been doing this a month and flabbergasted already

Don't think that you are the only one with such a small portfolio! Big profits can still be made with what you have, it's all about timing and it's never too late!

unfortunately I (being only a month) tend to feel towards my  22 BTC so far like this little guy from Ice Age 1 with his Acorn.

I'll learn but I mean how greedy do I want to be for 1 month.....(hits 1000 I'm gonna be a massive nerd meltdown on here of *should I sell or should I hoard ..will be an interesting sociological paper by someone I'm sure

I would kill for 22 BTC...I have 1/100 of that...

The reason why there are so many idiotic postings...
Probably more then 50% here have less then 1 btc and are younger then 18 years old -> can't take anything seriously from such users

Every "normal" guy can afford at least 10-100 btc.

The kids want to increase their 0.2 btc to 1000000$ -> stupid postings all around
