No way it goes to $3,000. Too many people will pile in if it goes anywhere near low $5,000’s.

I would be buying big if BTC dips to that area , MUST buy dips otherwise the luckgames becomes too expensive

Bitcoin price is moving back up. Looks like market will recover. What is the top short term?

That's funny. There were supposedly too many people waiting to buy in $14,000 as well - like bill gates and da bag insitutions were waiting there to buy every coin at 14K.

You most likely thought it was going to $0 in 2014

I actually drew charts showing that it would bottom around 300 and reach ATH in 2 years. Everyone thought it was super bearish and laughed me out of the forum. I ended up being wrong... it went lower than I expected, bottomed at 160 and reached ATH in 3 years. I was too bullish.

why would anyone bother buying in at a price level like that? someone would have to be a moron to think that was the bottom. that's not how bitcoin has ever rolled so far. no reason to believe it was gonna start rolling that way this time.

All those people who said it would never break $666, never break $400, never break $250 etc etc etc.

If anyone is thinking about getting a ledger, don't. I just updated the firmware and it was a fucking nightmare.
updating firmwares is critical on ANY device. even your holy trezor has firmware upgrading problems

Father Abraham had many sons

Had many sons had Father Abraham

I am one of them

And so are you

So let's just praise the Lord!!!

yeah, but, don't you have to update the password periodically for the bank where they pretend your silver actually exists?

Merited in spite of quoting the troll.

The worst part about him is that he is at least partly right in general. But nobody wants to deal with a pissed asshole. Someone should make a red pill rage support group or something.

It definitely looks like it's hurting all the markets, may cause some Fear and some hedgers into Gold and Bitcoin?

Latest evidence [last 6 months] suggests bitcoin is not the new gold. If anything (with a few analysts pointing out that) bitcoin is a hyper charged high risk high return asset ahead of stock market

Which means, bitcoin is negatively correlated to VIX and ahead of [negative] VIX. (observed earlier this year)

If this relationship holds that would mean if we're to see a global financial crisis worse than 2008 later this year in Q4, btc is going to $1K before that.

My gut says "Yeah, this is another dead cat bounce, and we'll be plumbing $6,500 by Friday"

I hope I'm very very wrong.
Reanimated cat maybe? Nah, it won't last anyway.
I believe we're still headed down, but not terribly so.
You'll have to skimp on your lifestyle for a few months, maybe.
Which means - easy with that 500$ whiskey. Stick to $10 beers and $40 wines for a while...  Cheesy

So when does what is going on in Italy become the next crypto trigger?  Cyprus 2? Two year Italian government debt is down 5% since Monday morning, that's enormous in govt bond terms.

Now who owns all that government debt I wonder?
edit

French banks own a huge pile

If this is true though, it will show us something very interesting. I have been trying to figure out lately whether the market is viewing bitcoin as another tech stock or a flight to liquidity style asset. It would appear that it's both. It seems that bitcoin likes either extreme and dislikes a status quo future.

Good afternoon Bitcoinland

Finally back in civilization (Playa del Carmen) after 2 weeks without phone or internet access in the jungle. Seems the hombre who provides the local internet service was away because his mother died and when a power outage crashed his system there was nobody to restart it.

I see the price has continued to slide since I left Canada and while it isn't as bad as during the winter, it's perilously close to $7k... currently $7228USD/$9397CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Being under 5 digits CAD is depressing. Hopefully it'll pick up after I head north.  Undecided

You buying some when you get back?  or what would be your "sufficient of enough dip" price point to buy?
