What's with the steep ask wall? It's a bit antisocial don't you think?
A dump is coming in the next 2 weeks, volume hasnt been this low in a long time. This rally might have had legs is if every major exchange was pushing 50K a day, but most have been 10K and under for a week or so Could it just be that most people are on vacation right now and are not interested in buying any Bitcoin because of that? I've seen people on vacations trading from their phones. Vacations are not what they used to be.

I think there is less activity over the holiday yes. It seems to me like most people are content to sit tight and wait patiently for the inevitable influx of interest and money over the next 2 weeks!

I think some people are just waiting to see what the market is going to do before buying. They will eventually decide it is not going down any more and then jump in and another rally will begin. Or someone will dump and they will jump in and then keep the price at about the level it is at now. I think the fact that we have seen a few dumps already without affecting the price too drastically is really bullish and shows there is some great support in the 750-800 range.

+1 Plus the fact that after the $480 low, some might have thought that it's too risky to let volatility ruin their future... Think about it.

Let's face it, this doesn't feel like a time to cash out does it? And as the days go by the exchanges get through their backlogs of incoming transfers and account verifications. Man it took them ages to process my KYC docs when that came in.

There are many great events coming within the next couple of weeks. Fortune's story about Fortress fund is one of them. I bet you have considered yourselves that only the strongest will survive the fiat exchange mania this year, right...? RIGHT??

If you can recommend some good places I would appreciate it. Cheers

I tried to get a thread started listing all the positive news/fundamentals happening in 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=385359.0Perhaps you could contribute MAcsga? NB...its interesting that rather than just list positive events most users want to talk about the negatives of fiat or present personal opinion - I'd suggest the internet has made people pretty feeble minded in respect of disciplined thinking.

It won't be a good year after all the chinese exchanges are shut down and arrests are made for price manipulation. I give it until the end of Jan.
Dogecoin, on the other hand, will reign supremely.

It's Jan 1 and volume is still low "due to the holidays" according to forum posters (for 2 weeks straight now). I suppose tomorrow the volume should suddenly pick back up. If it doesn't, should I be dumping? I guess then I'll hear about "deposit lag to react to the Fortress news". So I'll have to give it one more week and my dumping deadline is Jan 8?

Nah. About that time the uberbulls will figger out that Fortress will be buying off the network. Like from loaded or some such. The other financial geniuses will still be sitting on their funds waiting for the drop. I already sold some more.
