Update on my bank situation. I can no longer deposit fiat. Like, at all. No idea how to even pay the fucking rent once the money in my account runs dry.

I can, however, sell coins on kraken and withdraw to my bank from there. No problem at all. It's almost like they want me to get rid of them.
Careful what you do, Ibian. If they really play dirty, they can freeze your withdrawals (and payments) too. In most cases they can find a legal justification for that - at least temporarily, but probably long enough to cause you trouble, say, with the landlord. If I were you, I'd work out a plan B involving an independent stash of fiat for safety.

Hopefully there is someone with localbitcoins nearby. I have banks in the US but overseas I live off of mainly localbitcoins/cash and online bitcoin purchases.

If you're in the US you can use gyft.com and egifter.com for hundreds of stores. Including Walmart for food and gas.

Could we know which bank it is? Probably not important but I wouldn't mind adding them to my ignore list  Grin
Small credit unions can be a bit better.  I've had good experiences with mine regarding crypto and cash transactions.

Good advice. His account is probably already flagged for "suspicious activity". I would get the hell out of there as soon and orderly as possible.

And again, don't mix cash fiat with banking fiat, they are not the same and in big quantities/frequency the mix can be dangerous.

Also have a source of justified banking fiat (ie: rents, stock dividends, a salary) that amount for most of the (banking) inputs, try to have the cash activity (input and outputs) always in cash and if in need, only deposit the profits in the bank if small in comparison with all the rest.

Don't run anything that "could" be considered a money exchange without proper license and avoid banks at all costs.

"What happens in cash, stay in cash".

Bollinger bands have only been this tight 5 times in the history of BTC and it has never resulted in continuation of a bear market.

No. Tell us all about it.
And link?
oh he deleted a lot of posts, no?
anyway, link?

I am just going by memory that goat winked, around July/August 2014.... implying that BTC price was about to go up.  There may be a post, but I cannot even find goat's user name, so mystery upon mystery.   Tongue

Jay, just before he left to start his own forum he changed his name to “El Cabron” and deleted more than half of his posts. You’re right about the wink though. As I remember, his wink started in his pirate pass-through thread and again in the BTCST thread. At the time, pirate and his merry band of shitheads (which included goat) were essentially controlling the price. After that, he would do it occasionally when he had some kind of insider info.

I was, briefly, a member of Goat's "crypto crypt" forum.

I guess I was one of the cool kids back then and got an invite.

I behaved there pretty much like I do here.  I fancied it to be a kind of private wall observer thread.  Within about three weeks he booted me for "low quality posts".

At the time I was pissed, but in retrospect I suppose I am glad that I did not fit in with Goat's crowd.

You folks don't seem to find my posts so lacking.

He stole a bunch of btc, got pissed at theymos, threw a tantrum, changed his name, left to start his own forum and spend his stolen money. Good riddance.

Wasn't the rumor that goat had like 40,000 BTC?  He would not need to steal, if that were true, unless he either got the BTC through stealing or just conned peeps to believe that he had a lot of BTC (a kind of long con job).

He was the first and largest pirate pass-through operator. As far as I’m concerned he, PatrickHarnett and all the other PPT operators/BTCST criminals should be in a cell next to Trendon Shavers. He made all his coin cheating people on this forum.

This photo shows pirateat40 and all the PPT scammers meeting in Las Vegas.

Trendon Shavers (Pirate) is third from the right and Goat is right next to him giving all of you the finger as he takes your money.

Some of you hypocrites are talking out both sides of your ass though. You can't square spouting out "Bitcoin is money, and better than fiat! Fuck banks!" while also muttering "I can't wait for the next ATH so I can cash out [to fiat]!" Those two philosophies are diametrically opposed, in case you were wondering.  Roll Eyes

I feel like you are wrong here. Maybe they don't sell their coins for FIAT...

For example; If sell my coins to buy my dream house and car, would you consider it "cashing out to FIAT"? Nope, don't think so.

If I hold my coins for I don't know like 3 years and it happens to be that I catch the wave while its at max price/max buying power, I would use that opportunity. I didn't do it in december because the coins I had at that time wasn't enough to accomplish my dreams.

After holding bitcoins for years without blinking... you are just insulting us by telling that we cash out to FIAT!

No buddy, we cash out our buying power. Nobody is crazy enough to stay on FIAT after years of holding btc! You should understand the difference.

Agreed. Plan to see if I can pay the rent in cash. It's my main expense so would greatly simplify things.

I don't think they plan to "play dirty". They are just being paranoid about covering their ass. But you never know.
