Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

It doesn't really matter either way. ABC wouldn't have accepted SV blocks even without the checkpoint, so the narrative that it's somehow "cheating" makes no sense, and the checkpoint also doesn't prevent any likely attacks, so it's pointless centralization. These guys still haven't figured out how consensus systems work... lol tyvm

In other odd tangentially related news: Julian Assange has been charged, prosecutors reveal inadvertently in court filing WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been charged under seal, prosecutors inadvertently revealed in a recently unsealed court filing — a development that could significantly advance the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election and have major implications for those who publish government secrets. The disclosure came in a filing in a case unrelated to Assange. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kellen S. Dwyer, urging a judge to keep the matter sealed, wrote that “due to the sophistication of the defendant and the publicity surrounding the case, no other procedure is likely to keep confidential the fact that Assange has been charged.” Later, Dwyer wrote the charges would “need to remain sealed until Assange is arrested.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/julian-assange-has-been-charged-prosecutors-reveal-in-inadvertent-court-filing/2018/11/15/9902e6ba-98bd-48df-b447-3e2a4638f05a_story.html?utm_term=.9afea2d4929b

Good morning Bitcoinland.
We seem to have leveled off after the dip a couple of days ago... currently $5636USD/$7407CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Could be going sideways for a bit. Then again, the honey badger just might come out of hibernation at any time. Sometimes any little spark of news or FUD can be enough for the market movers to send it shooting up or down again.
I think they're still in accumulation mode and this $800 discount is serving them well. Too bad for the traders and others trying to make a quick buck. Holders and other long-term investors don't give a rat's ass about this minor crap. Anyone who has been buying the dips for years and only selling as necessary will still be earning a fiat profit any time they do have to sell.
All the whining and capitulation gives me heart though. Maybe we're getting closer to real full-market capitulation, turning around and properly heading back up again. More likely, it's more sideways for a while.

Honestly, this type of TA is still complete shit, especially in a drawn out bear market for Bitcoin. You wanna know why? Because the float is thin as shit right now, nothing but sideways wash trading going on for months. There are no major traders working, and plenty of long stops. So right now, *anyone* with any significant amount of bitcoin can sell off and move this market down significantly any time they want. And without buyers ready to jump back in and push things back up, the market will stay down at the new level. TA will never account for sudden shocks like that.

I'd also love to hear a contrarian opinion, like Tera's. Alas, (s)he's not here anymore.

No chance. We’re at the bottom now.
I agree mostly, but I said the same thing at $5780 back in June. I thought we'd seen capitulation with volume in February and that when it went below $5.8k in June it was just the final double-bottom dip before the slow climb back up, similar to the August 2015 dip down under $200 after high-volume capitulation the previous January. Wednesday's medium-sized dip was enough to prove that wrong. That said. I'll be buying as soon as I get back to where there's competitive Bitcoin ATM commerce. good,GOOD,GOOD someone thats keep the BULL alive in WO
Don't worry. There are lots of bulls around here. They're just to busy enjoying the fruits of the Bitcoin lifestyle to bother trying to get a word in edgewise between the sniveling of the worrywarts.

Good morning all. Haven't been in the "groove" lately... I feel disconnected with the market somewhat so have been in the mindset of if you don't have anything positive to say..say nothing at all. That being said..this bcash fork has been something to watch. All I can say is karma can be a bitch.. ------- Bitcoin I believe this weekend will bring some more capitulation. Monday could be ugly for all markets..have to ride out this storm. I do see a slight bubble trying to form on Wednesday for a possible Thanksgiving retracement. Not hodling my breath however. We have broken underneath what I call the prevailing upwards channel for the first time. I think it might take quite awhile for the market to stabilize after this drubbing. Looking towards late summer of 2019 for the reemergence of the Bulls.
