If newegg is advertising a mining combo deal, it can't be long til they start accepting bitcoins as payment, right?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. newegg should accept litecoin (and perhaps namecoin, doge, ppc, etc... ATI is miles ahead in terms of making efficient scrypt miners, and if they went into scrypt asics, they could corner that market, easy)

the first mover effect in bitcoin is gone, if newegg were to partner with a litecoin payment provider, it's like magic. Without something like that, I fear litecoin will die to the doge-wolves.

(*interesting that any time I type bitcoin, or litecoin, I get a red squiggle telling me I'm spelling it wrong. Yet when I type utter nonsense, like doge or doge coin, or even doge-wolves.. there is no red squiggle.

obviously doge is the true coin of the future.

They named it after the Doge of Venice, since Venice is where the sovereign bond market was born, on the Rialto Bridge.  Your spell checker honors the memory of the office of the Doge.  Language is a product of the past, not the future.

I view alts as a super long shot bet, the way i c it is; ONLY IF bitcoin is truly successful and is used by millions around the world / accepted everywhere, will we begin to see alts accept too, then these alts have a shot at reaching a ALT/BTC that is directly proportional to the amount of coins they are capped at. i'm not sure what you mean by newegg being able to corner the market if they accept LTC.... why would they take LTC when they are sure to make more TXs if they take BTC? thanks to BitPay and service like it, mainstream merchant feel comfortable accepting bitcoin, dose LTC have a trusted payment processor like bitpay? these companies don't want to take risks. and taking bitcoin as payment is perceived as a risk, forgot about talking them into accepting litecoin... that being said, I believe in the long term success of crypto and hold a small speculative position in FTC.

Oh yeah, look at that price. Will it go up, down or sideways?

To 920 of course. What else.

Can't wait to see BTCChina's volume pick up and hear stories of chinese speculators dumping millions of CNY in bitcoin.  Cheesy

Quote from: Bobby Lee
The fact the PBOC said exchanges need to register with MIIT essentially means it recognises exchanges as a business category and BTC China as a legitimate business.

I confess.  I haven't paid much attention to MtSux for a while, but has that ~$9 spread been the norm lately?

But BTC-China will be competing with Huobi and OKCoin for the same market, won't they?

I do not see why BTC-China would attarct new investors.  Do they have any advantage over the other two, e.g tariffs?

For that matter, they may have trouble regaining any that they lost.  People don't like change.  If they wanted to trade and moved to a different exchange, they are not too likely to change back (absent some nice incentive).

maker-taker pricing is super attractive.  if i weren't addicted to leverage i would hit that.
