Yes!  I created a vanity address 1Go4it... , generated a paper wallet, funded it, waited for the funds to arrive and then posted a screen cap of the wallet.

Nice, maybe i'll have some fun with it later. Gotta detox. Tongue

I discuss the whole content of that video in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090244.msg48978949#msg48978949

It is in spanish, but if there is some interest I could translate it.

TLDR: All those potential attack vectors requiere physical access to the device among other things. And even if all requirements would be met (which is already enough negligence on the user part) there are also additional countermeasures for additional security (ie. passphrase).

Not all.

Yes... if you are referring to the RF side-channel attack it also requires physical access to exploit. Please read my post in the thread above and you will see what I mean.

No Habla that thread.

I was referring to the blue have unintentional signals emanating from it that are increased when a usb cable is plugged in to add signal strength and the fact those signals send out screen output. so no there is no possession of the item needed. Although to get the seed/pass/key, I would assume you must be listening upon setup but the pass phase can be got anytime you log in. I'm really not familiar with hardware wallets. I linked the exact time the blue was being torn apart (figuratively and literally).

Is it only me or does it feel like this whole proof of keys moment does not have much traction (yet)

I've only heard of it this year though it looks like it's been a thing for a while. I expect it'll be something that grows over the years as more become aware of it. This year will probably be a bit of a nothing but it may eventually replace Christmas as the world's number one public holiday.

This seems perfectly acceptable, maybe we should ween humans off carbon and forge ahead for the leap to a full time symbiosis with silicon, we could bypass the need for food directly and replace our organic internal value reward action mechanism with BTC, so on the 3rd of Jan we can all just jizz our internals on each other in some party like its the 3rd of the 1st 3003 kinda way?

Never liked Christmas anyway.

you two are made for each other

2018: Goodbye Bear Market
2019: Hello Bear Market

I’d really like you to be wrong Bob. Sideways for 12 months with occasional pumps & then dumps (not dipping below $3,000) wouldn’t be too bad. It’d give us all a long time to buy even MOAR cheap coins before the next halvening comes into play mid 2020. We should naturally end the bear cycle then & begin the next bull run.

Happy New Year guys Smiley

....., only to find that the LTC pool had exit scammed.....

Ah yes the WemineLTC pool. I remember them well...
Fun story....
I mined there for a year or so back in the day and won 10 coins in a contest. Thru some silly glitch
they sent me the prize twice. Thanx guys! My name ”sirazimuth”was one of 10 permanently listed
posted/pasted on their never updated home page that remained the same for 2 years or so,right  up
to the very day they went offline /exit scammed. Thankfully I only had dust remaining there though
others I heard lost big time.

Happy new year everyone.

Cryptoland is not doing itself any favours using one website, with whatever quirks, grudges and laziness it develops, as the go to reference.

Funny thing is that the 24 hr volume is now 4.5 million dollars lol, its actually ramped up again odd

Also if you take a look here

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/paragon/historical-data/?start=20181001&end=20190101

You can see that this whole thing was front run, the considerably ramped up the volume over the past 10 days exactly , when compared to its average historical volumes , which could have raised eyebrows from some, and perhaps would have had it not been holiday season lol.. its the kind of thing that usually does raise an eyebrow for me.

What I would be interested to see is if this is the first of many shitcoin pumps, or a single P&D

Remember when there were zany pumps all of the time, I had thought we may have seen the last of insane P&D alt runs

Would be Yobit though right- no surprise

This is one of the things that intrigues me most about this year. If BTC goes to sleep, will people turn to alts?

The difference between now and 2015/16 when that was at its peak is that alts subsequently had their moment and delivered fuck all with knobs on. Then again that's probably not going to turn anyone off.

Happy 2019 guys!!!

My best wishes this year is way better for crypto than any of the previous ones!

... Or at least we end it at a price significantly higher than we have started it. Smiley

Let's just try to forget how horrible 2018 was.

As long as we sold little or nothing in 2018 then obviously we lose nothing.
1BTC still equals 1BTC the last time I checked.

TL;DR: As you say, It still would need physical access to the device to use/extract the seed. Also, that sort of tiny RF emanations are pretty common and difficult to prevent in many devices and the range and circumstances in which they can be properly recovered are extremely thin. It is an interesting "lab conditions" demo, but not that much practical risk in real life.

Also, Ledger has issued a post about it: https://www.ledger.fr/2018/12/28/chaos-communication-congress-in-response-to-wallet-fails-presentation/
