Thing is, none of that stuff happens in developed countries.
American weather is fooking mental compared to us soft Europeans. I've probably done 20-30,000 miles around the US. A lot of the time the sky was assaulting me in ways I've never experienced before. It's still just various forms of water. The longest powerout in my country in lived memory was maybe a few hours. And our winters are as rough as they come. We don't make fun of other nations for no reason, it's just not our style. It's because they are worth making fun of. where is that? all underground utilities? what kind of workforce do utility companies have? we had line crews from all over the us here to replace poles. there were huge convoys of utility trucks carrying new poles to staging areas. main issue was the trees coming down taking the utility poles and lines with it. and the northeast coast ("new england") is packed with trees and they go right to the road everywhere. so when they came down they took the power out and blocked the roads. mile after mile of snapped downed poles. trees with 4 and 6 foot trunks that had to be cut up, at least the part that blocked the roads.. we had absolutely huge snowplows that did anything smaller, some debris was just "hit it at speed" and knock it off the road best they could, and those plow drivers were nuts. size, speed and momentum was the deal of the day. well, many days. cities fared better obviously as they have hardly any trees. so if you could get to one you could find fuel (if they werent sold out) and food. but even fuel carriers need fuel to move. so a lot of fuel trucks were just sitting around, no fuel. brilliant. one change from this was a new rule some gas stations in every area need backup power as there was fuel everywhere but no power to pump it. duh that should of been a rule ages ago. i remember when fuel pumps had cranks. not anymore all in all it was kinda fun to see. underground utilities are the way to go but thats very slow going here.

and thats on land. the ocean is less forgiving.
Can we all move in with you? It sound very reassuring there. In return for food, power and guns I can offer toast making, as long as it's your bread and you're not too fussy, and I'll keep my room tidy. depends. youll have to meet our cats standards, which are much higher than ours. you would also have to be ok with extremely loud music at all times of the day and night, mostly pink floyd, rush, lynyrd skynyrd and other southern rock, and punk. and the music the wife and i play on our instuments; hers played well and mine that sucks. plus random weapons fire at any time. any negatives? LOL right? When the guy next door to me moved in (the dude with the 69 Camaro drag car I have posted before) the first words he said to me were "hi, were your loud new neighbors". Well, my band is in the front room, half stack, 400W of bass, drummer is a hitter, PA...we get along swimmingly. I have always preferred to have noisy neighbours so that they don't complain if/when I want to be really noisy too. Would hate to have a "full silence lover maniac" as neighbour... especially one that wouldn't understand that the problem is theirs and should better isolate their home or buy some fucking earplugs if they are so maniac about it. I would end up punching you in the face. Probably repeatedly. And worse if eventually getting out of prison for it was on the table. I have this theory that humans fundamentally do not like other humans. We simply need one another to survive. You are one of the last people I would have said was one of those full silence maniacs. Contrary to you I DO indeed like other humans. I just ask they mind their own business as I do with mine. In a culture where physical violence is illegal, you never really can tell who is a warrior. It's my main source of stress. Buying a boat just so I could sail into a storm was one of the healthiest things I have ever done, but unfortunately, there are no bears out on the sea. It got boring. Storms are loud. And hard to punch.

Finally, someone polite enough to invite the guy in the corner.
I've been lurking since Spring 2012. AMA.
How does it feel to be vastly richer than the mongs in here who've spouted millions of words and achieved very little because of it? Amusant. I wonder what they do here, tbh. What's their upside to the pages of tosh. It really isn't complicated: everyone here is "lucky" enough to be in on a once in a lifetime chance to front-run the old money. They get it, but by design can only participate financially by persuading us to hand over our coins. Just don't hand them over till you have secured generational wealth. BOY's I have given 50% of my Sm's , maybe someone can give him "little merit" to participate in the guess the price thread if he's interested

Welcome to the visible side of the forum! - How long have you been reading the WO? Do you think we are all crazy or just a few of us? - Are you bullish or bearish? - Hodler since 2012? I'll start with those three Hi Bitserve - thank you, but you've been here a long time as well. - I think there's actually very little craziness, but an awful lot of would-be manipulation. Seems clear to me, for example, that our pet Nazi is trying to disrupt and scare off contributions much like the grandad porn of NLC did. - long term very bullish, short term doesn't matter. - yes

Spring 2012. I was lucky enough to "get it" immediately.
I'm sorry, but it annoys me to hell and back seeing people type this NPC comment over and over. There is no "getting it". Wei Dai thought bitcoin would be worth ZERO. Butalik Buterin thought bitcoin would be worth ZERO. There is nothing objectively special about bitcoin and nothing to get. It doesn't even really solve Byzantine generals, and it's designed to centralize, defeating the purpose of it's existence. So what exactly is it that you "get"? That lots of scammers would attempt to push it on other people in a pump and dump? That's the only thing about it there is to get.

Pfft. I've been around longer.
(just)
Don't pout in front of the guest. Hi P_Shep. Indeed you (and many others) have. The "AMA" thing was light hearted, really to invite WO reflections, not to claim any great coin insights or seniority. I'm just an unimportant lurker and will no doubt slide away again soon. ...and thank you cAPSLOCK, for the welcome merits. I genuinely lolled when I first saw your handle.

Sounds like my kinda people. As long as the random weapons fire was responsibly directed, that is. yup it is. i own 13 acres, all woods. my firing range has a nice hill for a backstop. outside of that i wont fire unless i absolutely have identified the target and i consider it an immediate threat. although i have fired into the air when the occasional wild dog or such shows too much interest in me or the wife. all in all its mainly a lot of practice rounds to keep my skills honed.

Hi Mic, and thanks. End of March is a little too short term for me, but if I had to guess, I'd say banging its head on brutally strong 6000 resistance. Ditto for most of the 2nd quarter as well.

Anyone who still thinks that Craig Wright is Satoshi is definitely a "low life scammer": Inb4 Satoshi is a genius like no other and is taking on the role as the mentally unstable scammer CW in order to clearly demonstrate that Bitcoin can not be fucked with. He also set up the conspiracy that got some to think that he may or may not be Hal, who is no longer with us (RIP) and thus can't come out of the shadows to prove ownership of the genesis wallet of legends. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2019/01/14/russia-plans-tackle-us-sanctions-bitcoin-investment-says-kremlin/Russia is preparing an investment in Bitcoin to replace the US dollar as a reserve currency in a bid to tackle US sanctions, according to a Russian economist with close ties to the Kremlin. Cryptocurrencies have seen a surge of interest in Russia, with President Vladimir Putin expressing interest in the digital assets in recent months. Mr Ginko believes Bitcoin and the wider cryptocurrency industry now account for 8pc of Russia’s GDP, and investment to bolster the country’s reserves with Bitcoin could start as soon as February.
“[The] Russian government is about to make a step to start diversifying financial reserves into Bitcoin since Russia [is] forced by US sanctions to dump US Treasury bonds and [take] back US dollars,” Mr Ginko said.
“These sanctions and the will to adopt modern financial technologies lead Russia to the way of investing its reserves into Bitcoin.”
Been waiting for MSM to confirm this. Thanks.

This is something I ponder on and off. That 1-3% figure is pretty far out. I'll bet there are people who've been reading this thread for longer than most of us have been here who've never even registered, let alone written anything. I'm sure it's easy to be intimidated by the astonishing power and paint-stripping insight of titanic intellects such as the one I happen to possess. I still think they should make themselves known. We need a lurker amnesty. Come on out. We won't hurt you. Finally, someone polite enough to invite the guy in the corner. I've been lurking since Spring 2012. AMA. Welcome mate. How has your ride been since then?

When I was younger I was able to sleep in the middle of a death metal concert. Now at my middle age, I can't stand a slightest noise. Not just while I sleep but also when I am awake. Sometimes I just want to strangle the people who talk way too loudly. I want to shout at their faces "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Btw I bought some more today. Patience remains a virtue, which should be more adhanced with age. I have come to understand that I am a bit less risk taking with personal confrontations as I have aged, because it seems quite likely that my face will not take a punch (or a sucker punch) as easily as I could have tolerated in my youth.
