@Lambie Haven't read a better fictional parable ever. lol So if JJG and Roach are the sons, you the forgiving father? Metaphorically perhaps, but in truth, King Bitcoin is the Father of all gainz, I am merely his humble servant. Ty and glad you enjoyed it. Amen via Imgflip Meme Generator

As I think about interesting parallels between Bitcoin adoption and the adoption of religions like Christianity I found that it took Christianity approximately 323 years from the birth of Jesus before it had become the official religion of the worlds most powerful empire at the time, the Roman Empire. Christians endured lots of persecution from the various states where they resided. Bitcoiners have also been persecuted by various states. If we assume Bitcoin will move a mere 10 times faster than Christianity in terms of adoption due to all the tech we have such as internet, smart phones, wifi, social media, tv, radio, planes, trains , cars, so forth and so on, then we could extrapolate that Bitcoin will become the official currency of the American Empire (USA) by 2041. I think it will be faster, but '41 aint bad. via Imgflip Meme Generatorvia Imgflip Meme Generator

Just seemed more fun with known names. Let's wait for JJG to come online and decide When anything appears like a bible verse, my eyes start to glaze over, even if some variation of my name might be contained therein. Might be a trauma from my youth, perhaps?

2019 - Q4, 1 BTC=1 BTC whatever happens 2020 - Q3, after halving 1 BTC=1 BTC this 1 BTC isn't longer isn't smaller isn't red or blue, its still the same BTC2021 till 20xx - Q1,2,3,4 me, LFC and kurious having our yearly meet-up somewhere in the sun on a beach with cocktail and stuff, no matter when in the year, just when we want to (Could be with way more members of-course, but LFC and kurious are just the only ones I met from this board and with who I have had good times already ) Is there going to be one of those BIG kind of ships involved? I mean like a private exclusive use kind of an arrangement rather than a sharing situation. Good companion, good weather, good views, relaxing times, fine things to taste and all those things just when convenient is all I need brother..... You can skip me on the who's d*ck is the biggest ..... Probably when it really about d*ck size I would win but besides that.... it not a contest of boats and stuff.....Look who is getting all in a tizzy? Boats can surely be amongst one of the finer things in life, as long as you don't end up stranded on a desert island like Gilligan. They did not have a BIG one, either. Anyhow, as you likely realize there has been a certain amount of back and forth regarding guys wanting to have a boat, and then what size and then realistically considering the kinds of expenses and even management difficulties that might be involved with certain sized boats. So, whatever, if you guys are considering meeting, but not even contemplating boats or private islands, then you are likely NOT yet considering that you are getting close to "filthy" levels of rich. It seems to me that some of us are considering "filthy" levels of rich, even though we might not have had those thoughts, even a few years ago. You, Micpeep (or whichever member on your team who is typing this particular post), might merely be having a bad hair day. I just prefer many things before boats Fair enough. But let me ask whether you believe that if you spend more and more and more time hanging around with filthy rich people, then you might end up spending more and more time considering boating activities? Whether you like it or not, and even if you had not been planning on becoming filthy rich, you end up becoming filthy rich, then you end up having boat activities baggage, no? Same with the hookers, lambos and blows, you can deny all you want, but as long as you are a social being, there is going to be some of that kind of baggage in the midst as many of us HODLers fal further into the perils of richie. I am not trying to talk you or any other WO peeps out of rubbing elbows with increases in rich.

You can't mine just 1 bitcoin for $6k. You could try. Otherwise, the price is indeed determined solely by traders. Some miners are also traders. Some miners are not.

A very creepy story made me open a new thread: Privacy at risk using mobile phones. Not only Bitcoin-related.Security researchers have disclosed today an SMS-based attack method being abused in the real world by a surveillance vendor to track and monitor individuals.
"We are quite confident that this exploit has been developed by a specific private company that works with governments to monitor individuals," security researchers from AdaptiveMobile Security said in a report released today.
"We believe this vulnerability has been exploited for at least the last 2 years by a highly sophisticated threat actor in multiple countries, primarily for the purposes of surveillance."

Sounds good for swing traders?

From time to time I post comments here from a contact that has some very close ties with high ups in the CCP. For anyone who is interested, Here is something I read from him today. His comment is in response to a recent macrovoices interview regarding China, trade deal, etc. And an article speculating on Chinas purported lack of dollar reserves. Listening now and almost fell off my seat laughing at the whole " Trump and Xi kiss and make up to get a trade deal" talk. It is such a western view and coming from someone living in Hong Kong, it is puzzling how he can miss the background for the current niceties... 1. 70th anniversary on Oct 1 is key to Xi. But dropping existing tariffs and removing some key elements from the talks are also import to the Chinese position. Trump may cave, it is always possible, but Xi can't (not won't, can't). A Xi back down now will spell the end for the CCP and expose all the mishandling of issues in the economy and ag sector. 2. I have always said there will be some element of trade, and the timing for the 'trade" concessions by China is amusing because based on USDA data I saw, a large harvest is underway with out any markets to take a large percentage of the crop output. So, if true, China won't be paying nosebleed levels for ag goods because the US needs a market. On the pork side, pay attention to the US export data (10,000 ton pork exports to China last month) not the Trump tweets. Most of these exports are from Smithfields (Chinese owned) and in carcase form not processed which means it is actually costing jobs in the sector in the US.

And it is age old (in IT terms and literally): https://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/09/23/white_hat_sim_hacker_disillusioned_and_dismayed_by_operator_response/Edited to add: If you have an Apple or Android device you do not have to worry about this, they have already easier and better backdoors to come for you.

-Lens free cameras -Satellite resolution capable of face recognition and AI powered vehicle tracking -Windows NSA backdoors to all PC in world -Military industrial complex and ancient regime owns all bitcoins -Rampant counterfeiting in Fortune 500 basement vaults and officially through Quantitative easing, organized crime counterfeiting on cartel scale, North korean superdollar the list goes on -Buy out shut down emerging tech by overcapitalized mega caps, place in black box or sell to military to retain 20 year development gap from public
Crypto is not a solution as long as the fiat gateway is open to flood this industry with counterfeited cash, and even if it wasn't the establishment is already diversified in all other important sectors. Decentralized money may put an end to counterfeiting but it won't remove the millenia old hunting tribes/sovereigns that are operating a parallell civilzation.
What does crypto hope to accomplish except increased power concentration on masses? Sure, some privacy nodes maybe 0.1% of market size...people brought this on themselves and when they wake up they always go lynchmode or third reich etc.
Ca$h is like 5% of UHNI portfolio.
Serfs are free to forage up to $200k/year then the glass ceiling at level up, neo feudal. If you don't sell into the cause then money laundering/terrorism/wire fraud charges etc. And everybody sells into cause, crypto champions in 2017 fell like bricks, science and investor class fold over when rifle in face, always did. Mobile citizens militia powered by specific non subversible crypto maybe solution. Crypto kings building nations of gold without defense, gets immediately invaded.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still going sideways... currently $10317USD/$13646CAD (Bitcoinaverage). I guess no news is good news. Roach its about time for you to make your prodigal son's journey home to Bitcoin the almighty father of coins.
-snip-
You forgot the part where the devout Bitcoin-loving neighbors, jolly from a lifestyle of eating fatted calf and drinking fancy drinks daily (we won't name names) raised their glasses in laughter and rejoiced in the fact that maybe the silly twit had finally come to his senses. Hallelujah!
