It's funny thinking back to huge posts from long ago.  When I first made a bookmark for the WO, it was on page 673. Now whenever I come on here, it opens on that page, so I'm destined to see Frozenlock's twitching eyebrows forevermore (unless I were to update my bookmark, but where's the fun in that?).  Leads me to ponder whatever happened to folk who were posting back then.  I sometimes wonder what the ratios are for:

Still Around : Bored of WO and signed off : Got Wrecked and signed off : Made Enough to Retire and Disappeared : Suffered Psychosis and Disappeared : Died

Why use a bookmark?  If you just add the thread to your watch list you won't have this issue.

Shit. I got scared when I woke up this morning and saw $6K. Anyway, that newest Masterluc chart shows ~$5,500 as the bottom of the triangle. If we go below that, it's time to get really scared.

This would have been a good zinger GayJG, perhaps your first one yet after taking countless losses at the hands of yours truly.

But.... You chose to use a sexually confused man who prayed the gay away to represent your thoughts in the meme. Hmmm..... not helping with the GayJG label I put on you.  Wink

So high up, got my chin up
I don't care if I never come down
I don't care if I never come down

So sorry, as I've missed you
Running with the crazy crowd
I'm climbing, going higher
I don't care if I never come down
I don't care if I never come down
I don't care if I never come down

So sorry, as I've missed you

S&P 500 drops 7%, triggering NYSE ‘circuit breaker’ trading halt for 15 minutes

Quote
The S&P 500 dropped 7% shortly after the open, triggering a 15-minute “circuit breaker,” which temporarily halts trading at the New York Stock Exchange. The broad index also joined the  Dow Jones Industrial Average in bear market territory. The 30-stock Dow slid more than 1,600 points, or 7.%. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 7%.

On Wednesday, the Dow ended its historic 11-year bull market run by closing in bear-market territory. A bear market marks a 20% decline from all-time highs.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?

That was unexpected!

At previous drops I've often seen "the Chinese" get blamed. This is new, I would say this is a test for Bitcoin as "save haven".

this is a test of bitcoin period.

bitcoin will stand. It's more a test of holders. (not hodlers)

im sure it will survive too. and while i cant say im enjoying all this pain (watched the stock exchange trip the 7% circuit breaker a few minutes ago).. much carnage still on the way.

in just reloading my fiat reserves now for more corn myself as my last buys triggered and im out.

It's so good to observe the drop and don't even blink. Business as usual. This is fine.

True HoDLers need not worry at all. They are already doing well IRL because they're smart and capable individuals. They don't depend on Bitcoin for their everyday expenses -- they've got that covered. They understand the tech behind Bitcoin, they know its significance, and they are certain of what's coming. For them, it's a delayed winning bet that they placed years ago. Payout is delayed, but is almost certain. And it probably won't even be in fiat, when the time comes. 1 BTC = 1 BTC.

HoDL.

I would love to know those stats too. Many accounts seem to have gotten hacked which could've accounted for them. Plenty lost the plot. I think the smallest number will be those who sold a fortune and then signed out one final time with a salute and a toast.

As for the current price action, bleurgh. It is what it is and I would've been astounded had it been any other way.

it only seems at first glance that Russia is cutting the branch on which it sits, in fact, it understands that oil has no value, America simply buys oil without the need to rule everyone, and just prints usd for it. There has long been a technology on the water, this plant was quickly closed https://youtu.be/G3yGjve4mlU

It is a reason
