The point is, anything farther than 60 seconds is too far. You could say 3 minutes is still close enough, but it's a round trip time of still 6 minutes, and that's with whatever was in the mempool 6 minutes ago.

The risk is too high that any miner that far away is not going to mine any blocks in time.

I'd argue anything farther than the moon is too far, that's already a latency of 1 second at the speed of light. 2 seconds round trip.

It makes more sense to mine in the north or south poles, or in the middle of the oceans, assuming you can get power and internet all the way over there. If they use satellites for connectivity, then you add another second or so.

...assumes we never develop quantum-entangled communications which are theoretically 'instantaneous'

... on the other point about current satellite latencies, Musk's Starlink cloud of sats architecture has latency better than 20ms ping times and in many intercontinental link situations will be faster than current f.o. cables and switching networks.

50k is not mars.  That is moon

100k is mars.  I think we can reach this number before March 3rd this year.

I really should change that. Maybe I should take the 100k WO party instead. Do we have a logo for that? CCMF?

...

do you think Biden tries to charge Trump

...

If i was the orange man that'd be my number 1 risk, to mitigate, first i'd try to negotiate a pardon from Biden. Failing at that, i'd try to extend and radicalize my base as much as possible, to make the charge against me as costly as possible (if i split GOP party at it so be it, numero uno is the priority)

How arbitrary and negotiable "justice" is in the States never stops to amaze me. The discretionary power afforded to DAs seems insane to me.

A couple of Bitcoin related hats commissioned by El duderino_

Feel free to use and abuse them.

edit:

The rollercoaster hat looked fine as I worked on it but once I shrank it, you couldn't see the coaster so I enlarged it a bit more but it loses the moon shot effect.

Also, the image I began with has a reversed Bitcoin logo.  Total fail.  I'll start again Smiley
