Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

If you're not working a normal 9 to 5 job, you have time now to do stuff you couldn't really do before. I was in a semi-retired state a few years ago, I got my own gym equipment at home and started doing a program. Normally you could still do this with a full time job and a family to take care of, but that restricted you to certain times (either at night or early in the morning, maybe even some afternoons).

Self improvement means taking care of your physical health. Then reading some classic books, or sort of trying to study some old lecture or topic you could never get, good for your mental health as well.

But even if you don't have to work anymore, and you're still relatively young (below 60 or 65), it would be wise to still stay active and do something. Government and other normies and nocoiners think you should be working, it doesn't have to be full time.

See the great trouble is that money wasn't allowed to develop further. After two or three hundred years of coins all governments put their hands and stopped any further development. You are not allowed to experiment on it. money hasn't been improved, money has rather become worse in the course of time.

Governments said it must not develop any further and what we have had since in development are matters of government inventions, mostly wrong, mostly abuses of money, and I have come to the position of asking "Has monetary policy ever done any good?". I don't think it has. I think it has done only harm, that's why I'm now pleading for what I've called denationalisation of money.

I don't believe that we shall ever have good money again before we take the thing out of the hands of government. Because we can't take them violently out of the hands of governments, all we can do is by some sly or round-about way introduce something they can't stop.

imagine price going sideways after hitting 50k  Cheesy

From what I can see in the charts, hit 50603, now 49k something. Indeed going sideways a bit, it should stay above 49k for awhile, but it's still early in the day, some of the traders still have not yet woken up. The bots are running. We'll see, always good to wait a day for stuff to go stable, but we are used to being volatile.

Now that the 50k cherry has been broken we can expect it to peep above again, then again, then we will all be bitching about how it just won't break the mark to 60k.

I watched the massive wall on $50k get eaten inside a couple of minutes.

I made a screenshot right when the price was 49999.00, there were 664 coins ($33.239 million) about to be bought at 50k.

I would post it here but there's no copy/paste option for images so I can't be bothered.

You'd have to put it inside img tags, and upload it somewhere, imgur or something.

Congrats us!!

I believed so hard but seeing it materialize is hard to believe..
Just wow..

I know it’s only a couple more k, but it feels so good..

Anyone still not think we’re headed atleast over 100k this bull season??

Imagine if this bull season really lasts all of 2021 like would be expected..

I keep trying to think of what to do with all that $$, but all I can really think is to just keep holding..
What would I need to spend $100k or so on?  Nothing..

Fuck my long was cancelled before execution because of insufficient margin (too little BTC in the marginpool) on Kraken. It was only 1.6 BTC so they must be really low on BTC's.

I'm not really sure if "taking profits" in fiat can really be considered correct phraseology any longer.
I don't think you guys are getting just how far gone the current fiat banking systems are. It's like saying taking profits in Zimbabwe dollars, or taking profits in Venezuelan bolivars, argentine pesos ... at some point it's nonsensical to talk about taking profits if you're buying a higher risk devaluing asset

It depends what you're buying. fiat or an investment (which your home is not) then probably not but if you're materially improving your life (even in trivial or ephemeral ways) then I think it's fair.

Always make sure your house has a fireplace. Friend in Texas is -3 temps and no power. A miserable heat pump won't do squat in that case.

Smart trick from UK grandma on how to use a fireplace:

Fires in fireplaces are banned in London. Her Majesty can't be seen breaking the rules.

making a single BTC out of reach for the ordinary person, which it almost already is.

You'd basically have to sell Bitcoin like a car for that to be a reality for the vast majority.

Although we are already firmly above 40k € here in Euro-land...

...crossing and staying above $50k would make my day.

Next stop: 50k € (almost $60k)...

What a disgusting poll !! And the results almost made me puke...

So do you really think 2.5x from last cycle is current top??  with all the money printing frenzy ?? c'mon!!

The poll is worded carefully. It asks "When do you plan to START...?"

The keyword is START. Even if someone has a higher target in mind, locating the top is not easy - actually nearly impossible, it could be argued. So a careful BCA* strategy could be an effective way to extract a preset amount of fiat, hedging against a premature end of the bull cycle. Not that I deem it likely as it is now, or that I need that much fiat in this predicament. Personally, I'm not starting anytime soon, but we all have different circumstances, so it will be interesting to see the poll's results.
