The guy has written some great stuff for the novice farmer on subjects like electric fencing, low cost cattle rearing etc.

To keep the dollars rolling in he is now an expert on every fucking thing.

He starts out with a particular standpoint on a subject and collects "facts" that fit that premise and disregards those that do not. That's not how science or decent investigative journalism works.

If I am reading you right there are three possible scenarios.
1.  The value you lost in that channel was exactly gained in another one (or ones) that is still open.  *unless*---
2.  You spent the amount you are now "missing". (In this case the value stops in someone ELSE's channel)
3.  You channel partner broadcast an incorrect channel state and ripped you off.

EDIT: Hmm. Just did all the math for the values on my node, and the accounting all adds up - after incurred fees - so I have to think that the liquidity is wrapped up in other channels that I'm linked to, pointing towards your Case 1 ?

Kinda fucks with my flow, cuz now I need to add more coin to establish another wumbo with LOOP, or close some existing channels, which I don't want to do. But yes... #1 is super likely.

But heres the thing.  This should not have changed your overall outgoing liquidity.  It will have just spread it over other channels.  It is probably the actual REASON my channel with you is now all yourr SATS.  It's not wumbo (I am not sure where wumbo starts.) but it's 5mm sats... you can buy a scooter with it.  You still have the wumbo channel, but not it TAKES payments rather than gives them.  You could try balancing... Lemme set the fees on my channels to you to nil... try those?  there's 10mm liquidity between them.

I just never have much luck with balancing channels. lol.

-edit-  THERE.. my channels to you are zero fees.  Fill back up your Wumbo channel some with them... I think you can?

This translation is just a mistake of English understanding. 干 in China has many meanings.

It could mean either:

1.    fuck
2.    dry
3.    do
4.    damn
5.    fight
6.    work

So combined with crap translator software we ended out with millions of rude signs.

Off-Topic - Just had a meeting with an unvaccinated colleague that recently came out of hospital for COVID-19. He is very fit and was perfectly healthy before he contracted the virus. He was hospitalized for 1 month. Suffered a lot, with serious respiratory problems. He has now tested negative, and has started coming back to work. We met in his car for 10 minutes. He was not wearing a mask, and I was not wearing a mask either (I forgot to take it with me, and didn't say anything, out of politeness)... He coughed a few times while in the car with me. I'm vaccinated.

Hopefully, all will be fine and I'll still be alive to enjoy the $100k+ pump in November. Let's see how this plays out. 干!

I appreciate that, but don't worry about it for a rebalance.

I didn't stop to consider that channel liquidity would get locked up in other channels, after redistributing the wumbo (~0.17 BTC) liquidity with LOOP.

TBH, the only reason I established a wumbo channel with LOOP directly is to see what would happen, and, well, I guess I've now discovered what happens to all that liquidity - it just gets spread around to other channels that needed it.

Might throw another coin onto it, but don't have a burning desire to expand out any further at the moment. Top 500 is good enough for me; just fucking around.

I'll sleep on adding more coin or not in the morning...

EDIT: Might experiment with a couple wumbo channels with LOOP, set some retarded fees that would be extremely lucrative for me, and will see what happens.

I don't want to split off too much into COVID-19 politics - It's funny how polarized I was prior to being infected, and now having undergone the experience and gained natural antibodies, I'm way more zen about things, and almost feel a sense of sincere fear for vaccinated folk.

Israel largely single-sourced (and over-payed for) vaccines for their population and completely missed the heart issues 'signal' which is now afflicting 'the nations'.  There are recently a lot of 'we are sick too!' things coming out.  As usual, it is advisable to take EVERYTHING one comes across in cyber-space with a grain of salt, and apply a series of logical filters to it.
