what do we think about 50k by end of week. Seems likely to me.

Firstly, we've gotta make it to the end of the week then we'll see about bitcoin price.

As much as I cracked my lip at this, it's sadly (scarily) true for more people than we'd care to guess at. Without even referencing recent events, half the world is still trying to make sense of the past couple of years. Already got neighbours with young kids getting evicted, makes me a bit sick to think I'm still fairly comfortable to be checking prices while sipping Nescafe...

The world was so simple 2 months ago when Russia asked NATO to guarantee and sign agreement that they will not expand further to the East. They explained again and again that placing rockets in Ukraine and Georgia is a red line for Russia. Senile Biden said in an interview that he doesn't care about Russian red lines. The result is what it is. Now they do care but it is too late.

Russia has the right to defend itself!

Since 2016 there are nuclear ballistic missiles in Kaliningrad, between 2 European Union countries. Any disarmament demand by Russia is BS.

Also Russia is asking for respect of its sovereignty, when it is the one invading Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and instigating "pro-Russian" sentiments everywhere possible, giving Russian passports, to justify further invasions in former USSR countries.

Now his gold statements can't help him and other gold optimists who thought it would be safe heaven and the ship for them will soon sink. Those calling btc bubble has now big hole in their gold ship and it can't survive the strong waves and this is going to happen soon :

Peter Schiff falling the rabbit hole with his gold bars :

Those who were happy with gold prices surging this is how gold rug pull happens:

The blue lines are gold representation and orange one for the one and only bitcoin.

While WO all know that Bitcoin is the best bet.

It is still prudent to own some physical gold as insurance against calamitous events.

The price chart needs to show the 4000 year moving average.

Roughly an ounce of gold bought a milking cow in ancient Egypt.

Today a good replacement milk cow costs around $1400

At today's gold price $1930 you'd get the calf as well.

In the year 6000 there may not be bitcoin (or humans) but an ounce of gold will still buy one milk cow if humans and cows still exist.

$43k not a bad start to March.

Yeah it's just old fashioned imperialism. See this article from the future: https://mil.in.ua/en/news/brave-new-world-of-putin-an-article-by-the-propaganda-publication-ria-novosti-which-was-to-be-published-after-the-occupation-of-ukraine/

On the other hand, NATO is also a thing that is trying to grow, as things tend to do. I can imagine the frustration with that on the Russian side. However, no reason to bomb a brother nation to hell.

The funny thing is Putin is accomplishing exactly the opposite of the goal he started out with. A nation's identity is build on stories, and the story that is being written now is that for Ukraine, Russia is a mortal enemy, and Western Europe are friends.

Excellent point.

US bases in Romania and Poland must remove rocket launchers installed last year or will be bombed by Russia!

It's so strange how controlled fission could save humanity from an early extinction but uncontrolled fission could be the cause of its even earlier demise.  I don't possess the influence or the power to have any nuclear weapons removed from anywhere.  The best I can do is to pray we choose wisely.

Pump for ants already exhausted.
Observed 45,250, but now 44,250 as I type here.
I am not hardwired to 1,000 swings yet.
One day 10k hourly swings will be pretty dull.

You know... such an interesting point  We can see intraday swings that are equal to an ounce of gold.

Lol this must chap Peter Schiff's ass super bad.

I honestly do not think we are super far from 10k candles.  But I am a perma-bull, I guess.

Hopefully we keep taking runs at over 45.  I think it is natural to run into some resistance at this level.  There was a lot of action between 45 and 49 or so... I feel like that's the range we have to cut through.  I wonder how long it takes  (Oops.. cut the prices off on my silly pic.  But that line is ~47k.)

Putin is scared shitless by NATO. So it will not happen.

An attack on a NATO country is very different to invading and attacking a nearly defenseless nation like Ukraine to murder civilians. In the name of Liberation and DeNazification.

There are more Nazis attending a regular football match in Russia than exist in Ukraine.

Where are all the girls putting garlands around Russian soldiers necks in thanks for Liberating them?

Russia's actions have ensured that Finland will become a member of NATO and possibly neutral Sweden.

Missiles and armor along the entire western border just what Putin did not want.

The biggest miscalculation of Putin's life, is he too at 69 going senile like Biden.

Always happy to hear the situation from Russian point of view, please keep posting.

Bitcoin clicks up another $1k notch.

assuming we get to space (and stay) in the year 6000 an oz of gold will probably be trivial via asteroid mining/transmutation/magic.

but a real live honest to God genetically pure (whatever that may mean) cow?? prolly more

but even better in the year 6000 maybe: an oz of honest real DIRT with all microbes, fungi, insects, worms and whatnot? priceless - as its the start to a whole planets ecology for terraforming and such.

Interesting article on the possible effects the sanctions against Russia have had on the BTC price:

https://uk.yahoo.com/finance/news/bitcoin-crypto-cryptocurrency-proves-sanction-breaker-for-russia-122514733.html

Also talks about how pressure is mounting on exchanges to block transactions in Russia:

Quote
Cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase (COIN) and Binance are now facing pressure to block transactions with Russia.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s vice-prime minister, on Sunday called on “all major crypto exchanges to block addresses of Russian users”, saying it is “crucial to freeze not only the addresses linked to Russian and Belarusian politicians, but also to sabotage ordinary users”.

However, the chief executive and founder of Binance said it was not the place for cryptocurrency exchanges to block transactions.

“To unilaterally decide to ban people’s access to their crypto would fly in the face of the reason why crypto exists,” Changpeng Zhao said.

I tend to agree more with Zhao on this one.
But then my home and surrounding town aren't the ones getting bombed.

Stonks up, gold down as financial shenanigans rock legacy markets today. Bitcoin meanwhile is a calm in the storm, down .2% on the day and currently trading in the $44.2kish range.  One day at a time gentlemen.
