Why so defensive?? If you are a paid troll, are you allowed to deny it? I guess you would be. But your defensiveness makes it seem like you're more guilty.
If I were a paid troll, I would deny it, no? Silly question... Tell me where I have "spread fear" without backing it up with argument. We tell you that all the time. You choose to ignore it and press on. So we choose to ignore you and press on. Sad that - some of us were hoping you would continue to offer constructive counterpoint arguments, which would help the less cynical among us to challenge our assumptions. IMHO you're lying to yourself and us about your position or you don't really understand objective analysis, which is something I still find hard to believe given your background. BTW, have you learned how to use bitcoin yet, professor?

Let's try to be nice now. I know it can be challenging when you're born to contend for domination of the universe, but let's all try. TA from another thread: Log scale chart of complete bitstamp USD history. Why might the latest pennant be such a different beast to the previous ones?

I don't think I have ever seen you this defensive. You certainly aren't convincing anyone.
Believe what you will. I cannot (and I don't want to) change people's religious beliefs. (Those who doubt that the Earth is flat must be paid by the makers of round globes, of course...)

What does add up, however, is that he admits to having a decent size family to take care of, we know the economic situation in Brazil is very difficult and we can suspect a professor doesn't necessarily make much to take care of a such a family. He would be a perfect choice as a paid troll.

weekly chart not looking good. 612$ far away, not to speak of 643$ undecided about Litecoin. But revising my bullish viewpoint on it - most likely it will go down even harder than bitcoin... ...although the daily chart is looking sideways somehow

I don't recall seeing an answer to my point about altcoins vs scarcity. Or to how important is the Chinese market for the price of Bitcoin. Or to why is the price 500 USD if it is very likely to be 1,000,000 USD "soon". Or...

Thank you. Yes, that's me. What a waste of a brain. [ ... ] you just display opinion like a troll, and generally speaking you don't back anything up.. its all your opinion I don't think I have ever seen you this defensive. You certainly aren't convincing anyone. [ ... ] Thing is, its obvious that he is not as stupid as his points. Which is another big red flashing signal of why I think he might have ulterior motives for being here. Like payments. [ ... ] His background vs. his commentary doesn't add up. Or to why is the price 500 USD if it is very likely to be 1,000,000 USD "soon". Or... See, these are just more evidence that you are being paid to be here. Each of these points have been answered and refuted. In addition there are literally dozens if not hundreds of threads in the greater forum archives that answer in detail each of these arguments. And you are a PROFESSOR, you should know about peer research. There is no reason A) for you to be discussing such points in the speculation thread when you should be in the "Bitcoin Discussion" section and B) for you to be looking for answers in the speculation thread. So why would you really be here? What would motivate you? I think one option is very clear.

Altcoins are exactly that alts, and not many people in their right mind will say that bitcoin will remain king, but based on the money flowing in on the btc start-ups that alone speaks for itself. Why 500 or 493.99 because the market dictates it. Perhaps because less than 7 months we we're below 100. Perhaps the market is terrified of China dropping the coins, perhaps cause to many sheeple bought on the last rally not full understanding...took me two years to realize the ramification of this invention.

I don't recall seeing an answer to my point about altcoins vs scarcity. Altcoins do not retain value, because miners mine them and sell them for bitcoin. The only way to mine bitcoin, practically, without a large investment, is to use a GPU to mine a scrypt hash coin. This means the altcoin supply is infinite, vast, and bidless, while the bitcoin supply is restricted, hoarded, and bid. No altcoin can be achieve useful market penetration until bitcoin has first blazed the trail. Infrastructure must be built. By that time, it is essentially impossible to overcome the moat which is generated by bitcoin infrastructure, unless there is a huge utility value advantage due to technological change. Almost all altcoins are pump-n-dump scams. Some altcoins are technology testbeds, like bitcoin. One may some day prove useful enough to start to retain value. It hasn't happened yet. There is nothing on the horizon. Bitcoin has a 5 year head start. Litecoin is for contrarians and day traders, which are enough to keep it moderately liquid, so it is the exception which proves the rule.
